I fail to understand why should class A services of the GoI allowed to have association which more or less function as Unions. There are IAS associations, IPS associations, etc etc ? If the highest category services who do not fall in the category of any type of workers indulges is unionism, how can those who are termed as lower level workforce needing corporate, industrial and economic safeguards in terms of enabling them to negotiate settlements and participate in corporate governance through Unions be asked to remain in discipline.

Even Police Forces have unions !!!!!!

This kind of act of IRS is certainly outcome of a false sense of Unionism that arises out of their Nehruvian, Left Libart kind of unrealistic education imparted to them in schools and Universities. Perhaps the examiners also ask lot of question on rights of Unions !!

Since the money is not public money in terms of Taxes and other government revenue accruals, CAG can not have any jurisdiction over it ?

Those who are first world countries and have world class medical infrastructure are suffering more than Us. Even with shitty infrastructure we are managing the situation yes previous import friendly government didn't allowed DRDO and other organizations to share technology with private sector but now under make in india we have suddenly gained the technology to mass manufacture ventilators in india.

Government doesn't spend on accessories at cost of hospitals, if you even have a little clue and can compare budgets of public welfare vs tourist spots.

Complaining for a few hundred millions (which actually would compensate themselves with revenue) against annual spending of 300 billions is mere a sign of ignorance. It's like regretting buying a chocolate in past when you are short of thousands in present situation and chocolate barely makes any difference.

State of health infrastructure is a result of decades of mismanagement. Just increasing budget can't improve it a bit. Purchases and implementation will take long. PS corrupt system one between will try to suck funds.

India needs a complete overhauling with a new National Health and National Education plan like that of infrastructure. Otherwise, every increased penny would be useless.
India has a good medical sector in terms of innovation but pathetic when we come down to civil hospitals from research institutions.

Existing packages for stimulus or disaster management are distinct from what you call healthcare budget. It's essentially COVID 19 budget which is being used for purchase of new equipment. Except the inventory we purchase from this, budget doesn't help Indian healthcare in any other way.

and yet india has one of the best health surveillance systems in the world, look at how other countries are struggling to scale up during this pandemic.

India has been doing contact tracing for a month, it is just this week countries like US & UK are talking about contact tracing and yet struggling to set it up.

Your's is the same logic as : Why send a space probe to Mars when the money could have been better spent on constructing toilets?? There's no end to such arguments.

P.S the almost Rs 3000 crores spent on constructing the statue of Unity has mostly been realised through the lakhs of visitors. It has boosted income from tourism and generated a large number of hotels, restaurants, transport and other services as well as providing jobs to 15000 people in the tourism industry.

Is that a bad thing? Not by a long shot! Was building the statue worth it? You bet it was!

The districts that are now CCP Virus free should have the restrictions lifted and should allow businesses to open with the restrictions on travel i.e. no one in our out of the district except for goods. For other districts the lockdown should be extended by 15 days.

I don't think that its that simple. Because many districts are lifted from orange to green zones every single day. That means those areas haven't tested positive for any covid19 case for the last 14 days. Just dividing the districts with cases and no cases will be just absurd then. I heard that the state govt's will be given the power to decide.

@likewise1129 , That's what I meant by CCP virus free districts. i.e. the districts that are in the green zone. And also they need to start the sale of cigarettes and liquor as they already being sold in the black market at exorbitant prices. As this will help the government earn some revenue. For example a pack of Marlboro with MRP of Rs 326 is being sole for Rs 500.
