Pornography gets a pandemic boost, India reports 95 per cent rise in viewing
Data show India, the fastest-growing smartphone market, registered a 20 per cent jump in consuming porn content even before the official restrictions in light of coronavirus kicked in late March.

HIGHLIGHTS
  • India has reported 95% spike in traffic to adult sites during the 3-week lockdown
  • Data show India registered a 20% jump in consuming porn content even before official restrictions kicked in
  • Although several Indian telecom operators have blocked a number of adult sites, their content still can be accessed on mirror domains

Indians seem to be leading the world in porn consumption, reporting a 95 per cent spike in traffic to adult sites during the three-week lockdown.

Data show the country, the fastest-growing smartphone market, registered a 20 per cent jump in consuming porn content even before the official restrictions kicked in late March.

Although several Indian telecom operators have blocked a number of adult sites, their content still can be accessed on mirror domains.

Released by Pornhub, the world's biggest porn site, the statistics delivered insights into consumption patterns since the coronavirus pandemic induced quarantines and lockdowns across the world.

Let us take a peek at what India, France, Germany, Italy, Russia, South Korea, Spain, Switzerland, and the USA are up to.

[Figure 1: Web traffic spikes in France, Germany, Italy & Russia]
Much of Europe has been under heavy lockdowns for almost a month now.

Pornhub statistics show an immediate jump of 40 per cent in France when the country had its official lockdown period set in on March 17.

A similar picture played out in Germany where the official lockdown date of March 22 coincided with a 25 per cent increase in traffic to adult sites.

Italy was the worst-hit nation in the world outside China in early March. The country's March 9 lockdown period saw a 55 per cent hike in consumption of adult content.

This was also the first time adult sites started offering free subscriptions to their viewers.

A further hike on April 2 corresponds with Italy's decree that all Covid-19-related restrictions will remain in effect until April 13.

In Russia, the official lockdown period started on March 30, a week after Moscow's mayor ordered all residents over 65 to self-isolate at home.

The next day, Chechnya closed all restaurants, cafes and crowded places. On March 25, Russia closed down all cinemas and night clubs. During all these developments, the country's web traffic to adult sites registered an increase of 56 per cent.

Figure 2: Web traffic spikes in South Korea, Spain, Switzerland & USA
South Korea did not have complete lockdowns like most of the other nations in focus. So, the viewership stats do not see major spikes. The South Korean traffic to adult sites remained constant throughout March and start of April.

Spain, like its close European counterparts, had similar spikes as soon as it ordered a complete lockdown on March 14. Pornhub data suggest the Spanish traffic went up above 60 per cent during the period.

Switzerland's web traffic to porn sites increased around 25 from the start of the nationwide lockdown on March 19.

The American traffic to pornography shows multiple spikes, corresponding with restrictions the states ordered.

pronhub is banned in india.. u cannot access it so not sure how this data for india is coming in... or is it those users who r using VPN's to bypass ...

Yeah, the seasonal Common flu is no joke in the US. It is just something Americans have learned to live with.

"CDC estimates that the burden of illness during the 2017–2018 season was high with an estimated 45 million people getting sick with influenza, 21 million people going to a health care provider, 810,000 hospitalizations, and 61,000 deaths from influenza (Table 1). The number of cases of influenza-associated illness that occurred during 2017-2018 was the highest since the 2009 H1N1 pandemic, when an estimated 60 million people were sick with influenza"
………..
Deaths in children with laboratory-confirmed influenza virus infection are reportable in the United States and 183 deaths were reported for the 2017–2018 season.

https://www.cdc.gov/flu/about/burden-averted/2017-2018.htm

Still, the White House apparently is predicting 240,000 as a upper estimate for the US Coronavirus death-toll this year.
This is about 4 times the biggest annual seasonal common flu death toll .

Two points to consider:
1) presumably the White House has made the prediction taking into account of the Coronavirus lockdown
2) during flu season, there is a degree of herd immunity to the disease ,due to mass flu vaccinations.

Flu is not an attack... Corona is an attack. Soon for India also it will be I guess worse then any terrorist attack in terms of life lost.

Taiwan shares best practices to deal with coronavirus pandemic with Indian medical staff

WION

Coronavirus in Taiwan. (Photograph: Reuters )

Taiwan plans to share its best practices to deal with the coronavirus pandemic with 14,000 Indian medical staff. They shared the information with 9,000 of them on April 2 via video conferencing.

The second video conference is scheduled on April 14. Around 5,000 Indian medicos are expected to participate.

"India is a very important country in our New South Bound Policy. Our government has decided to take action to assist India and other countries in this region to fight the pandemic," Taiwanese Representative Office in New Delhi said, in a statement to WION.

Associate Professor of Infectious Diseases and Director of Quarantine, Dr Chen at Taiwan National Cheng Kung University Hospital (NCKUH) interacted with the Indian medical staff, on April 2.

To this end, two Indian Pharma Companies have taken the lead in India-Taiwan Counter Covid collaboration. The 9,000 medical staff, who have been trained, were done with the help of ALKEM Laboratories Ltd based In Mumbai while 5000 who will be trained are being done with help of Veritaz Healthcare Ltd. Infact, it was ALKEM Laboratories who had sought Taiwan External Trade Development Council for assistance.

Both the pharmaceutical companies contracted a PR company and opened registration to the medical or pharmaceutical staffs from hospitals throughout India.

Taiwan's quick reaction to the crisis has drawn praise globally. Under its slogan "Taiwan can help", it is reaching to the world with support on COVID-19.

Taiwan has reported 385 confirmed COVID-19 cases, of which 99 have recovered and six have died deaths.

On April 2, Taiwan announced first wave of international humanitarian assistance and donated 10 million medical masks and other medical supplies to the US and Europe.

Masks donated to the Netherlands arrived in Amsterdam on April 7.

Taiwan also gifted to EU member states of Belgium, the Czech Republic, France, Germany, Italy, Luxembourg, Poland, Spain, Holy See, Switzerland, and the UK.

MOFA last week announced a second wave of international humanitarian assistance and six million masks will be shipped to EU member states in Northern, Central, and Eastern Europe, severely affected states in the US, countries in Latin America and the Caribbean. Taiwan is also discussions with Japan on donations to the country.

UPDATE: #coronavirus d€ath toll in the United States has surpassed 20,000.

US ke lawd* lag gye........If it still doesn't retaliate then it will be confirmed that these guys are just good enough in bullying and killling abduls with aks ,
but backdown from taking on well trained militaries.
Trump is not your snowflake liberal but he represents all the qualities that has allowed Anglo Saxons to be the top dog.

So far he had local obstruction in the name of globalists, Liberal judges, Democrats, media hounding him for calling Chinese Virus as Chinese. That was during trade war. Now the time is different. Chinese Virus has screwed everyone of his opponents and now they are on the same page wrt enemy. This is American awakening and recognition of the existing threat. This is finally the Pearl harbour or Sputnik moment of 21st century.

USA is a proven workhouse. Don't forget that USA has been playing around with China since 1890s. Read history about their relations. They have played carrot and stick for 100 years with them. It was American globalists who opened China and made China.

Don't buy the fake stability of globalization. It is an artifical construct. It is never gonna work. If you want to understand where the world is headed, the nearest example is of interwar years between 1918 and 1939. Read about the major treaties that were made. Reason about the relations between top powers of that time Italy Japan USA UK France. How second tier states like Germany Soviet Union Brazil Australia survived that time.

This time China will get real concrete response which will change the status quo forever. For Americans China is just one of the many threats they have had. For China they literally worship Americans and they are the ultimate gold standard. Their only aim in life is to surpass America on any metric and celebrate and show of to the world.

In 1979, there were 100 foreign-owned enterprises in China. In 1998, there were 280,000. As of 2007, foreign companies employed 25 million people in China. U.S. companies with offices in Beijing include Google, Microsoft, FMC, Cigna, Unisys and General Electric. U.S. companies with major production facilities in Shanghai include Dupont, Rohm & Haas and General Electric. As of early 2010, Fortune 500 companies had 98 research and development facilities in China.

Foreign companies in China include Coca Cola, Pepsi Cola, Nike, AT&T Corp., Bristol-Myers Squibb Co., Citibank, Morgan Stanley & Co., Volkswagen AG, Unilever, Toshiba Corp., Matsushita Electrical Industrial Co., General Motors, France's Citreon, Philips Electronics, Cisco, Microsoft, Motorola, Samsung Electronics, NEC. Proctor and Gamble, Wringley chewing gum.and Hitachi Ltd.

Western products---especially cigarettes, liquor, cameras, watches and designer clothes---have traditionally been are seen as a statues symbol. a Western analyst told the Washington Post, "Anything foreign is a cachet. Rightly or wrongly, it's considered to be of better quality."Among the American products that have been available for some time in China are Head and Shoulders shampoo, Raid insecticide, Camay soap, Milky Way candy bars and Dove ice creams bars. For a while Chinese companies Americanized their products and logos, putting statues of Liberty on their packages. The flying red horse symbol of the Mobile Corp. has been in China since the late 1800s. [Source: Peter Behr, the Washington Post]

As of 2010, 300,000 foreign companies had invested in China. United States companies with the biggest investment in China (1998): 1) General Motors ($2 billion), with a massive Buick plant in Shanghai; 2) Motorola ($1.2 billion), cell phones and pagers; 3) General Electric ($1.1 billion), high-tech medical equipment and CD plastic; 4) Arco ($620 million), oil exploration in the South China Sea; 5) Coca Cola ($500 million); 6) Hewlett-Packard ($400 million); 7) Proctor and Gamble ($360 million), with a huge shampoo plant; 8) Amoco ($350 million), polyester plant supplies clothes factories; 9) United Technologies ($250 million). [Sorry for the dated data, but I haven't found any good recent data]

Foreign companies doing business in China are generally required to form joint ventures with Chinese companies instead of forming wholly owned subsidiaries. Entrance by foreign companies to the Chinese market is often determined by how much technology and know-how the Chinese can get from the foreign company. Many Chinese worry that foreign companies are posed to take over entire sector of the economy.

In 2010, China announced plans to require Western companies doing business in China to turn over sensitive technologies and patents to Chinese competitors in exchange for access to the country's markets. According to a 2010 American Chamber of Commerce report, U.S. businesses were losing Chinese sales because of rules to support homegrown technologies.

Japanese companies are put under more scrutiny than Chinese companies or companies from other countries. If something goes wrong with a Japanese product, particularly a car, the problems get a lot of attention. Advertisement by Japanese companies are also scrutinized carefully for anything that might be perceived as anti-Chinese.

American companies doing business in China have to assure Washington that their dealings will not compromise American national security in any way.In 2006, the Chinese government placed limits on real estate investment and tightened controls on mergers involving foreign firms. The Carlyle Group bid for 85 percent of Xugong, China's biggest maker of construction equipment, was abandoned.

Most goods that U.S. companies manufacture in China are sold in China not exported to the United States.

Was this woman arrested or allowed to go scott free? The attitude of the police was like we Indians are still slaves of the white people. Bloody disgusting. She should have been bundled into the police van and thrown into the block-hole. This is how seriously we are taking the lockdown too!

Necessity is the mother of invention. It is amazing that so many startups and college students are inventing stuff in quick time to fight COVAD. Where there's a will, there's a way! And our jugaad is unbeatable! Only the youngsters need the funds and then the sky would be the limit!

And this is bill Maher who is actually liberal and hates Trump. USA seems United against chicoms.
Although it's too early to judge but I think I like this guy and he is a liberal in true sense.
I am gonna have to watch all his content to make up my mind.

I still think they are trying to diverting the attention from scrutiny on whether Chinese virus is indeed a bio weapon.
