Yes all those people who are advising trump are idiots according to you. What can I say now sir. :)
I think you should be advising them and our Pm.
There are many people who got better due to this drug. All countries aren't idiots who are stockpiling
hydroxychloroquine..
Dude, nobody is batting for HCQ like Trump.

Even ICMR guidelines is not enforcing its use. The instructions we have got is that we "may" Take it if we want. They haven't even said it is mandatary for us(medicos) to take- meaning even ICMR is cautious in its approach.

And you trust the experts for their advice, not politicians and bureaucrats. So far the hoarding of HCQs is by the advice of bureaucrats and politicians, how many actual scientists on this matter have actually endorsed this drug? Absolutely no one. That's why all media reports from good sources always add the disclaimer - "scientists are skeptical and that HCQ is unproven"

BTW, if HCQs are supposedly useful for preventing acute immune overaction in lungs during corona disease rather than fight the actual disease, there are far better far more specific and effective drugs for that - corticosteroids, which are routinely used in ICUs in the treatment of pulmonary insufficiency. So no, until a proper scientific study comes confirming the effectiveness of the HCQ I will not recommend it, just based on the whims of a morons like Trump.

Hell, I won't even give it to my family members if they get infected with corona. I don't think I can be anymore blunt than that

Yeah it means containment is showing results. But if we have BMC type episodes with long queues and gatherings, it will again shoot up.

But the hopespot is govt is trying to do containment strategy and not lockdowns. That is govt is probably trying to extend lockdowns to specific areas than to entire country. So, there will be slow return to normalcy atleast in few areas.

So this is good news overall.
The way I am hearing things. Govt is trying to extend the whole country lockdown. I am still not clear about this that what extension is everybody referring to is it district, state or country?!

Probably the govt might extend the lock down for 2 weeks further to give more time for the health department to identify the hotspots. But I don't think the whole country lockdown will be extended further.

Anyway, TN is already talking about containment strategy rather than lockdown. Let's see how govt handles it. It will all depend on how confident the govt is about the hotspots- if the govt is confident it has identified all the hotspots, they will move to containment rather than lockdown. If the govt is not sure about identifying all the hotspots, then it will resort to extension of lockdown.

This lockdown was never a solution. It was only a temporary measure till the health department can come up with hotspots and specific containment zones.

Any news source on this?
Cuz its a medicine which is rarely used for rheumatoid.
No brother. It is a disease modifying drug (DMRD) ,which along with methotrexate and sulfasalazine is used as a first line drug in patients having Rheumatoid Arthritis . If you go to the rheumatological department of any medical college ,you will see hundreds of prescriptions of HCQ.

Rahul kanwal is getting raped for that tweet where he said in return trump agreed to give india early acess to future vaccine.

is there even a source for what he said or its just verbal diarrohea ?
He was also protecting Trumps retaliation comment on india.
Looks like there is some American angle inside India today.

Who told you it s a rarely used drug? HCQ is the first line DMARD drug for rheumatoid arthritis along with methotrexate.

Our pharmacies have run out of HCQs and we aren't getting any new supplies for past two weeks. I already told you guys that the economic/finance ministry has been disaster so far in handling this problem. We have stocks in the goodowns of the pharma traders/whole salers. But no logistics company/trucks to deliver it to our hospitals/pharmacies. Only very recently, 4-5 days back has the finance ministry even recognised this problem.

You even have modi talking about it now- shared/pooled logistics for farmers because there is acute logistics shortage across India.

Indian Railways introduces 109 Time tabled parcel trains over 58 routes to connect all the important centers.
First time Time Tabled schedule for such a large number of parcel trains

Local industries, e-commerce companies, interested groups, individuals and any other prospective loaders can book parcels

In a major boost to the supply chain across the country, Indian Railways has introduced unhindered services of Time tabled Parcel Trains for nationwide transportation of essential commodities and other goods. This is expected to boost the availability of vital goods required for ordinary citizens, industry and agriculture.

There is no point in debating this with you. You think our pm is advised by bureaucrats on health issues , next you will say our pm is advised by bureaucrats on military stuff too.? Don't be naive , he is definitely been advised by some people who knows about this stuff. And I never said icmr has advised hydroxychloroquine for coronavirus patients.

So Piyush Goyal’s commitment of time tabled goods trains did come true, but rather under a unfortunate circumstance.

DM of varanasi announced ceiling of hotspots in the district. This would be done by blocking all the access points of the hotspots using bamboo barricades. All the supplies would be home delivered for the period of ceiling. People need to call the control room if they need any type of assistance or supplies. In varanasi the recently built command and control centre has been turned into war room for fight against Chinese virus. I assume same model will be used in all districts in the country. Here is a video of how the smart city control room has been converted into war room for the disease.

Excitement around hydroxychloroquine for treating COVID-19 causes challenges for rheumatology
The antimalarial drug chloroquine and its safer derivative hydroxychloroquine have been used since the 1940s to treat autoimmune disorders, says Thomas Dörner, a rheumatologist at the Charité University Hospital in Berlin. Though the drug is rarely used for rheumatoid arthritis, around two-thirds of patients with SLE in Europe use hydroxychloroquine to manage their symptoms, and it is the only known therapy so far for primary Sjögren's syndrome, he says.

They need to sort out last mile connectivity fast in my opinion. Police is behaving like morons everywhere and not allowing anything anywhere, either Orders are not clear or they are deliberately behaving like usual self...

in my area, except for veggies, nothing is coming. Dry rations like dals etc have vanished off shelfs and getting Rice / flour is a big problem...
