From WION that was surprising.
India already has export ban on drugs...thats quite understandable.
We should not forget that USA lifted BAN on one of the pharma company in MP which was into production of cholorquine (?) I guess.
Indian govt was assessing the situation.. USA and India would have kept a clear understanding while lifting the ban on the pharma company.

What did media expect? Lift the export ban in under 24 hours ?
nothing happens that way!

I think India should play this to our leverage saying that we need US to provide us this much money, lift ban from these these companies and other stuff in order to send them the medicines. apart from whats reported in the media categorically nations are working close together.

You keep crying about need to nationalise every firm in this nation, have you ever been to a sarkari company?
I work as a distributor for a sarkari company and I can tell you that this company is inefficient as hell. And the same goes for all of them.

I have an uncle who was at one time the second biggest business giver to a government company. And guess what ? The stincky babus thought that my uncle was making money because of the company ,so they wanted him to lick their boots which he obviously did not as he established that brand in United AP.

Result is ,he started his own manufacturing plant and brand ,the business of the sarkari company in Telangana has become 1/50 and my uncle has eaten away all the customers of that company because he made those customers based on his hard work and good will.
The tragedy is the lower rung of officers of that sarkari company is still not bothered while the higher officials are still unable to comprehend what hit them ?

Modi must have extracted some reciprocal assurances from Trump, but the US is too proud to admit that a smaller country can negotiate with it on equal terms, so they've tried to make it look like 'humse darr ke India ne apni export policy change kar li'.

Some time later the results of today's trade off will show when they will announce that X Indian Pharma company has been exempt from US sanctions. There's a price for everything. It hurts their political standing as a world leader and a pre-eminent power if they are seen asking for help from a 3rd world nation, hence the sugar-coating.

we dont know what we would have extracted.
remember china is already supplying USA with stuffs.
we should also have our leverage.

APIs from china is flowing to India even during lock downs. we will have enough and more of this.
none of our pharma manufacturers are under lock down..even SMEs and MSMEs are working.

And what about world Bank? You do know which country reigns Supreme there.

What do happened in india was as usual "there is a process", so "no supply until process ends" that process or whatever ended after talk between modi and trump.

If yes then atleast somebody in WHO or relevant world organizations come forward and say it.
Becuase then atleast this suck lock down will end.
