There are many more pathogens those affect lungs. That does not mean that BCG will work on all of them. We need a large randomised medical trail to test BCG's efficacy on Wuhan virus. We need empirical evidence to prove that BCG works. At least they have to explain its mode of action on the patients of covid 19.
From what I am seeing I can say states like MP, UP, AP and Telengana are really fighting it. Which is resulting in the the fall of new cases number in the recent few day. Since the last 48 hours the Delhi and TN are also trying very hard which is also paying of as the numbers has fall under 100 since yesterday. But Maha is just out of hand right now.:frusty:

Bhai, mera positivity just died after seeing the numbers climbing thanx to Corona Jihad. We have to prepare for treatment phase rather than focusing on preventive phase, unless Govt force closes access to and from ghetoes.
It is infuriating with the tablighs and the markaz fiasco and its continuing fallout but there is a silver lining, at least valid so far....these guys are so crazy that they all seem to have stuck in either mosques or their own ghettos for the most part thereby having little wider impact except infecting a few of their own. The Dharavi one was actually the scariest, Hopefully, it hasn't spread.

on the other hand, West Bengal has begun to worry me a lot. Knowing what we know about the effect of the Tablighs, I'm beginning to worry that there is either suppression of numbers or they are just not testing. Nothing else can explain why Bengal is at 54.......

Sorry to hear that. What I have heard, if you are on TB drugs, you have to regularly monitor your liver ( LFT) and Kidney (KFT), Serum urea. Sodium, Potassium etc. Is it so?
That's right . You have to get those tests done once every month. ATT ( treatment for TB) are not very good medicines to take. They have some really bad side effects. I used to get nauseated and stomach ache 1hour after taking those medicines and the worst part is that you have to take those empty stomach every morning and feel sick for most time of the day. Infact ATT was a bigger problem for me then the TB itself.

Numbers in India are still very very low compared to European countries. Only 3500 - is se jyada to mere campus ke aas pass me sewer ka pani leak ho ke log leth gaye the do hafte ke liye.
flip side of the argument is that one TJ guy attends a namaaz attended by 15-20 people in an area, each will have atleast 5-15 family members at home. that's atleast 225 people exposed to virus, then even one from each family attends crowded local market, because they don't close their markets, then the susceptible cases grows into thousands within days.

the exponential growth scenario still remain valid and is a threat.

We've been through Ebola, Bird flu, Swine flu, SARS, Zika and what not. Every time people said word gon end. Kuch ni end hota.

The disease will claim its rightful share of souls before peaking out. 10-20k people gon die, then it will plateau out. Worst case, even if 1 crore people die, that's less than 1% of our population. We have enough buffer stock of people.

You are right. I cannot speak for any other state but I can definitely say that UP is doing really good, rather great. From isolating and quarantining those with symptoms to enforcing lock down. My primary doctor, dr. Vikas Agarwal, who's an immunologist is at the fore front of this struggle. He works at SGPGIMS and he is an excellent human and a brilliant professional( he treated that bitch known as Kanika kapoor)

FCI sets all time record in single day transportation of food grains

Continuing with its efforts to ensure that enough food grain stocks are made available in every part of the country during countrywide lockdown, FCI has set a new record in single day movement by moving 70 rakes carrying 1.93 Lakh Metric Tonnes (LMT) continuously for two days on 03.04.20 and 04.04.20. During the 12 days since start of lockdown on 24.03.2020, FCI has done average movement of 1.41 Lakh MT food grain per day as against the pre-lockdown daily average of about 0.8 Lakh MT. A total of 605 rakes carrying about 16.94 Lakh MT food grains have been transported across the country during this period.

Punjab accounted for about 46% of total food grain movement at 7.73 LMT followed by Haryana (3.02 LMT), Telangana (2.04 LMT) and Chhattisgarh (1.15 LMT). Other states like Odisha, Andhra Pradesh etc. moved the rest. Among the consuming states, maximum induction was done in Uttar Pradesh (2.07 LMT) followed by Bihar (1.96 LMT), West Bengal (1.65 LMT) and Karnataka (1.57 LMT). Keeping special focus on North East, a quantity of 1.4 LMT food grains have been inducted into the North Eastern states during the lockdown period. FCI is ensuring that the requirements of every state is met without any shortages. As on 04.04.2020, FCI is having 55.47 Million Metric Tonnes food grains (31.23 MMT Rice and 24.24 MMT Wheat) in central pool.

In addition to meeting the regular requirements of food grains under National Food Security Act (NFSA) and additional allocation under PM Garib Kalyan Ann Yojana (PMGKAY), FCI is providing wheat and rice directly, without going through the e-auction route, at Open Market sale rates to ensure continuous supply of food grains in the open market. Wheat is given for meeting the requirements of manufacturers of wheat flour and other wheat products based on the assessment of requirements done by the respective District Magistrates. Rice is given to the state governments for further distribution through their channels. So far FCI has allotted 1.38 LMT Wheat in 13 states and 1.32 LMT Rice in 8 states under this model.

The fact is anybody can get infected by the virus. The real question is, are you going to be properly quarantined with the people you came across or Govt is just going to leave to be in a hospital bed.

And I feel disgusted sometimes too with the media of our country. They keep telling that 'numbers are increasing rapidly', 'what if we go to stage 3 after this week' etc. These type of sentences creates fear in public. You must create awareness not fear. To be frank in a country like India with this much diversification and population even if the numbers have risen after the Nizamuddin incident still I will say that digits are not so bad.!!
