no man..it s not incompetence..its business competence..
like all companies world wide Indian pharma companies started to SOURCE material from a place where it is cheap..
Greed..cant say it greed cuz only by booking profit can a company stay afloat competing with its peers in the market who is using supply chain from china...else the Indian companies would have shut its shop..
its simple business logic.
so..it was a part of balancing act..

But now...every company worldwide realized the folly of putting all the eggs in chinese basket..
and most of the pharma companies are already starting their API manufacturing here in India itself.

Couldnt they do it before?
Unless they could make it cheaper and compete with china in volumes it was a huge risk ..so like many other pharma companies they too started sourcing from china.

Why now?

we failed to grab the part of "Business" in MEDIA "BUSINESS"
Its an INDUSTRY....Media Industry..and they need to make PROFIT to stay alive in the INDUSTRY.
and their "produce" is " NEWS"..as in they MANUFACTURE NEWS..
inorder to sell the NEWS at the best..it needed to be PACKAGED...and we all know how people buy things ..right?
Most of them go for the GLITZ and the packing than the content in it.. Nobody reads the fine print on the "content" when they buy a product in a super market.

Things in Bihar are getting real bad.

My Aunt lives near Hanumanagar and the area has 2 corona cases. Authorities have sealed the area when second case was discovered, 1st case was discovered some 3 days back.

Infection has reached far flung areas like Begusaria and Lakshisaria, Purnia.
These places have no testing facility and they have to send the samples to Patna for Evaluation.
Remind u this is a case of community spread.

There are only 13 hospital that can handle corona cases out of which only 1 has testing facility.
No gear for Health Worker's, doctors and Nurese don't know the protocol.

DRDO body suit to protect doctors from COVID-19


A bodysuit developed by India's premier research and development organisation DRDO can protect doctors and other health workers attending on Covid-19 patients. The Defence Research and Development Organisation (DRDO) said the bodysuit can shield doctors, medical staff, sanitation workers and others.

According to a DRDO statement, the bodysuit developed earlier for medical and paramedical staff to manage and evacuate the causalities in the event of radiological emergencies has now been converted into a full-body suit to stop contamination.

"The suit is washable and has passed the ASTM International standards. The suit is widely tested by DRDO and other agencies and found suitable for the cause," it said.
