This is going to be a costly (in terms of human lives) approach to containing coronavirus. Even in my Home town The Cancer research institute of Government medical college is a joint collaboration between state and Tata trust.

Looks like it is reducing the rate of replication of virus in our cells. It works somewhat similarly in malaria cases( it works against the malaria parasite in its stage when it is in our red blood cells). If it's true then it needs more empirical data to make it a part standard treatment regimen.
