we seem to be living in two parallel universes right now - absolute panic on online forums, tv news and watsap/SM; and life absolutely normal (atleast where i live here in bangalore) outside my door. Went biking around to get a feel of mango junta - baskin robbins full, big bazaar full, hotels full, fish/meat shops full, parks full, families out enjoying sun with kids in tow and very very few masks to be seen around.

After all this doom and gloom here, i step out and i was like :confused1:,
Ppl are least bothered,
Delhi/NCR is taking threat more seriously. My friends told me roads are deserted and there isn't congregation like before except for peacefuls who are headache everywhere, even in Islamic nations.

NCR started taking things seriously too long back and hence we have very less cases. majority are those who were caught at airport. I came down to my native due to kids but speaking to colleagues and frineds, its pin drop silence with all shut already. even APMC Have declared that none of subzi mandi will work and requested people to stock up veggies...

groceries were hoarded week back...

I had no idea that Season flu caused so many deaths....
Is it a case of the flu being the final straw accelerating other health issues that person might have had.
Flu ka yaad na dila. I had severe flu last year, so severe that I had to do both a dengue and a h1n1 test despite having already gotten dengue before and also got an x-ray done because I showed symptoms of early onset pneumonia. I must have had fever of around 102 for over a week or so and despite my usually hardy constitution my folks were ready to admit me to a hospital before the hospital staff asked them to wait and allow it to pass because the tests were -ve. Viral is common but id gotten this after travelling to the middle east so that put everyone on edge when I wasn't responding to antibiotics and crocin for 5 days. I imagine covid is similar reading a few of the symptoms.

Ppl are least bothered,
I steeled myself and went out for a while just now to buy a couple of items and while it's not exactly the most densely populated Area in mumbai there's a definite lull, if not outright seizing of all activity as though everyone is hunkering down to go into lockdown. All the wine shops and watering holes are shut - I assume people stocked up for the pralay yday xd - and other than kirana stores, a 24/7 medical store and a dmart express nothing is open. Just a few kids playing cricket and people roaming around with masks and handkerchiefs over their nose and mouth. What you're describing seems like a typical Saturday :biggrin2: maybe the shit will hit the fan crowd wise in a few more days. Entertaining kids during the summer vacations is anyway a challenge and your white collar folks in bengaluru will treat this like a paid vacation.

/pol/ does some digging and discovers the true death toll in China thanks to the detailed subscriber counts the mobile operators keep. Real numbers are between 7m and 14m people if you tally mobile accounts that just went away this year.
