Coronavirus and the Chinese
There is only one way to punish Chinese for experimenting and spreading this deadly disease is cut back on orders to Chinese factories. We do not know whether it was a preplanned experimentation which got out of hand in a Chinese laboratory on a stolen germ from a Canadian laboratory, (as reported in a section of the media) or trial of a germ warfare by the Chinese scientists but a punishment is overdue. We have to wait for more investigation of this affairs. In the meantime, first, do not go to China to buy anything from China’s. Second, do not let them inside your country as some may still be carrying the germ whether aware or unaware. Third, take Chinese scientists out of critical jobs in the West as some may secretly be working for the Chinese government and stealing data. Fourth, take a year or two longer but build your own capacity to make intermediate or finished products. This will eliminate future dependence on China. Fifth, advise nations who are signed up for BRI road project in which Chinese run the show and source products from anywhere along the road, make them aware of dangers. Sixth, deny any FDI to China, they are terribly spoiled with free availability of brick and mortar money and freedom to export to the West duty free. Seventh, build capacity elsewhere to get products and provide them FDI to build diversified capacity. In other words diversify product source so that the future is secure and safe.....and so on.
The world stock markets have suffered a catastrophic losses because of coronavirus scare and disruption of supplies from China. The West has made itself terribly dependent on sourcing products from China and profits from it. It collapsed because that supply chain got disrupted. That situation for the future has to avoided. Most of us lost our hard earned retirement money in the stock market because an unknown germ from China unrelated to products we import rose up and destroyed everything in sight including lives. The loss of life is not great, as that kind of loss of life happens every year during the flu season. We will recover the emotional scars. What we will not recover is disruption to our future well being. It has to be avoided and avoiding we must, hence end our dependence on everything Chinese. ...... diversify our product source.
