Actually, India is very rarely mentioned on Chinese news and almost no Chinese visit India even though China has the largest number of traveling tourists (by far!) So there is very little hostility towards India and to be honest culturally Indian things are well liked -- in fact before Covid, there were Indian films that topped China's box office!

My posts are simple replies to certain members in this thread only. They seem to delight in the Wion/Gravitas news that hope for more death and disruptions in China.

China is going through 100s of millions of infection on its way to herd immunity. It had 37M new infections in one day (compared to a high of 400K in India during delta!) So obviously there will be some hospitals under pressure and there will be deaths. But the fact is the impact is far less when considering the huge infection rates necessary to achieve herd immunity in the fastest time possible. And this is reported by people who actually live in China.




I think a lot of the Wion-crowd will be sorely dissapointed as we approach herd immunity in the coming weeks with little death and an economic boom resulting from no more Zero Covid rules
