Taking MKI as an example, what you get now is no different than years ago. The indigenous supply chain has long been established. There is no Super 30 upgrade included in this cost. This is flyaway cost, no support contracts included. I will digress to inflation but it is not possibly that high.
What about inflation , for example dollar has gone from being 44 rupee in 2006 to 66 rupee in 2017 and there are components we order from France and Israel that are paid in dollar.
Take the example of Su 30 mki is was say 40 million in 2005 , by inflation only that will be close to 50 million by 2008

Plus the 78$ million dollar had special equipment and changes to air frame

What you just stated is a perfect example of why PPP is not a good indicator for cost of weapons.

Trying to equate a PPP GDP to Russia's military spending is a fallacy. Even Putin is facing the cash crunch. Look at the Admiral Kuznetsov, first he wanted to replace it with a nuclear powered super carrier, then it was downscaled to an $800 million modernisation of Kuzntsov, now it is downscaled again to a $400 million renovation of just the boilers.

Rather than debating about fragile Russian economy which is kept afloat because Putin's oligarch friends and oil & gas ,we should discuss what are Russia intentions in central and south asia ,some real threats are russia supplying taliban and Mainstreaming them and by logical extensions supplying and mainstreaming Lashker and Jaish ,shielding pakistan in UN and supplying Pakistan with Mi-35 Hinds around 24,these are real threats also increasing military exercises ,now even talks of SU-35 are on horizon and some roos ke dewane still singing there praises.

Pakistan, Russia giving new dimension to relations

Recent frequent exchanges between Pakistan and Russia and that at high levels clearly indicate that both the countries are on path of solidifying their relations both in economic and defence fields.
The 12th meeting of the Pakistan-Russia Consultative Group on Strategic Stability was held at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs on Friday in which both the sides held an in-depth exchange on regional and global developments, including arms control, disarmament and non-proliferation of arms.
According to a statement issued by the ministry, Ambassador Tasnim Aslam, Special Secretary United Nations and Economic Coordination led the Pakistan side, while the Russian delegation was led by Sergey Ryabkov, Deputy Foreign Minister of the Russian Federation.
The talks were marked by a commonality of approach and convergence on a range of contemporary issues, the statement added.
Both sides agreed on the need to further capitalise on the bilateral relations by exploring mutually beneficial avenues for bilateral cooperation.
It merits mentioning here that Foreign Minister Khawaja Muhammad Asif also recently visited Moscow and held wide ranging talks with his Russian counterpart in which both sides agreed to setting up of a commission for promoting military cooperation while expressing alarm over growing footprint of the militant Islamic State (IS) group in Afghanistan and the indifference of US-led Nato forces present in the conflict-ridden country to the problem. “We are forming a military cooperation commission in line with our inter-governmental agreement in this area,” the Russian foreign minister had stated as he expressed Moscow’s readiness to strengthen Pakistan’s counterterrorism capabilities.
Pakistan and Russia in Nov 2014 signed a defence cooperation agreement and subsequently the two sides in Oct 2015 inked military-technical cooperation accord providing for arms supplies and cooperation in weapon development. Russia has provided four Mi-35M combat and cargo helicopters to Pakistan and the militaries of the two countries also held joint drills codenamed ‘Friendship’.

So This catch up game by Russia, China and India is indicating what direction the World will take in the future.
Putin is for a multi polar global system where several big powers jointly make major decisions. Therefore, he is willing to share his very high tech weapons with China and India..BOTH. !
What high tech weapon has Russia shared with India? Even Brahmos codes are not given to India. This is a highly deluded view.

Which other nation shared weapons with India in last 60 years ? None other than S.U/Russia.
US gave Paki F16s, Sabre jets, Patton Tanks and so forth. Did India get anything from US in last 60 yrs ?

It was Russia who gave India MIGs, Sukhois, MI17s, Bhisma Tanks,Nuclear powered Submarine, Chakra and submarine technology for Arihant, Nuclear power plants of Kudankulum, Sattelite technology for decades and to help with Nuclear blasts done in Pokhran in 1970s.

History can not be deleted just by denying it. I don't recall any other nation who gave high tech weapons to India ..may be with exception of France who sold Rafael jets.

In 1962, India was badly defeated by China because Indian Army was fighting with rusted, obsolete rifles under Nehru govt. Who helped India that time. No body !

Only recently, some other nations have started showing some interest in selling high tech weapons to India but still not much has materialized. Its not delusion..its real history !

Even PM Modi openly accepts that Russia has been most reliable, time tested friend of India.

Yes Russia is facing a catch crunch and they have shelled some military project like New carrier , crussier , PAK DA , PAK TA for post 2020 as they are other project which will be more effective . It is very cheap to maintain a defensive force to stop military invasion. It is power projection weapons which cost more .

It can be used to equate Russia defense budget in dollar terms .
Russian defence budget can be equated to dollar terms in dollar terms. It is higher budget than France, meaning more power than France, it is lower than China, meaning less power than China. Russia has chosen a quantity over quality strategy same as it always did, but when you do that you lose the advantage of force multipliers.

Look Russian government is not going spend budget in dollar , it will spend it in its own currency the ruble , but since the ruble value related to the dollar keep on changing , you get a changing value of budget so you take a equivalent US equipment and then equate the cost to the equivalent Russian equipment and then you will get it equivalent budget in US dollar terms. There is no co relation between budget and military power .Look at the Saudi Arabia , massive budget but a paper army.

You are trying to equate poor leadership to a paper army. This documents well the problems of the Arabs.

Under proper leadership the Arabs would be very deadly.

This comparison about which nation spends how much in dollar terms on weapons is redundant.

If technology becomes available to two nations equally...then ..one nation can produce the same weapon at much cheaper rate if that nation has low cost ,highly skilled labor force...(such as India and China) as these nations pay their scientists and engineers in their own currency. Thus their input cost is much lower.

Prime example is India's Mission on Mars which only costed 70 million dollars whereas a western nation could do the same mission for 10 times the price India did.

In next decade or two, major nations will be able to make their military forces so capable that a war among them
will become very unlikely because of "mutually assured destruction"

Why a power like NATO is unable to attack North Korea ? Because NK has acquired enough weapons to destroy Seol, Tokyo, Manila and Bangkok...of course in case of war .NK will be finished forever. But still cost to the region is too high.

I am unable to see how major nations like US, EU, Russia, China ,India can have war without "M.A.D" and thus, this hypothesis that wars will not happen between major nation..eventually leads to Multi-polar world order.

Deadly to themselves.

These Arabs are hopelessly tribalistic. They simply cannot transcend their tribal loyalties.

Putin's Air-Launched Hypersonic Weapon Appears To Be A Modified Iskander Ballistic Missile

One of the weapons touted in Putin's speech was an air-launched hypersonic anti-ship missile launched from the belly of a massive MiG-31 Foxhound. Upon closer examination, one of our commenters "Idunknown" noted that it looked exactly like an Iskander ballistic missile. We took a closer look and after doing a proportional/dimensional analysis of the missile in relation to the Foxhound we came to the same conclusion. In fact, the missile doesn't even look that highly modified, although it's exhaust fairing, which drops off during launch, throws off the Iskander's signature profile a bit at first glance.

The Iskander and its newest variant, the Iskander-M, are not air breathing missiles. They use solid rocket fueled motors to propel them on their ballistic arcs. Yet Russia claims its new hypersonic missile has a flight profile like that of a cruise missile. All this begs the question is this missile actually an air-launched ballistic missile system?

The Iskander missile is hypersonic by its very nature, but it doesn't achieve that through a long flat flightpath.
