what 'aam aadmi'(tax payer) from usa thinks about begger pakistan - Insight
Sending $3 billion to Pakistan right now might seem outrageous. What happens if the money is stopped?

The purpose of the thread is to discuss what taxpayer (aam aadmi) from USA thinks about donating another single penny to beggar country called Pakistan. all the opinions that i am going to post are from live persons. these opinions are taken from tweets, facebook, blogs, live interviews or from under the comment section from media websites like wsj.com or nytimes.com etc. all these live comments were posted on march-09-2011. these peoples were asked about their opinion about osama and weather if usa should provide more funds to pakistan or not. please join in...

so lets start shall we?

"How they must have been laughing at us all these years that Osama was practically in plain view." - juna, San Francisco

"I wonder what would have if the United States asked for an account of the $20 billion they gave Pakistan?
at any rate, this country can not afford to do this any more. If politicians feel they should be cutting entitlements, then military aid entitlements should be cut, too. 20% of the Us budget is military spending and we taxpayers see money going to a government which is playing both sides against the middle, it is time for not only Pakistan to give an accounting, but our government as well." - nmetro, colorado

"Absolutely cut of aid. Pakistan has always bitten the hand that feeds them. The have time and again been double faced hypocrites and had taken USA for a ride. That we are so naive to trust them makes them laugh behind our backs. In fact, they should be declared a terrorist state. They have been blackmailing USA because we needs them to supply essentials to our troops in Afghanistan. In fact, I say use Central Asian republics for access to Afghanistan, even if it costs more. Don't let our tax dollars go to a country that hates the USA and is untrustworthy. Pakistan has made no effort to explain why and how all terrorists end up or have ties to Pakistan. ISI is a terrorist organization. Treat them as such. The state department should wake up to Pakistan's double dealing." - Dustin, New Jersey

"Once again we come to the realization that we do not know how to deal with the Pakistani mind and ego. I would hope that someone in our State Department would go back to the documents left by Nehru and Mountbatten when they dealt with Mr. Jenna, their first leader. With the Pakistanis then and now, "saving face" is more important than truth or what is the right thing to do, even for their own people. Until we understand them and deal with them on their terms, we will be in constant conflict." - Barbara, Dallas

"I agree with Mr. Inderfurth's remarks. Talk about poring money down a rathole! I'd also like to know how much more the Pentagon wants to pour into Afghanistan. For every terrorist (and remember that person's terrorist is another's freedom-fighter) we kill, another two will surely sprout. And what is the reason we got involved in Afghanistan? Was it to stop the Taliban? I can't say I'm proud of living in a nation that spends all its citizens' taxes on invading and/or trying to control other nations." - Dwayne, Houston

"For decades the US has thrown money at the Pakistani dilemma with only dismal results. All aid should be cut off - ended, not suspended. Any humanitarian aid could be resumed at a later date but only under controls that preclude corruption and insure the money is spent where the US intended it to go. No military aid whatever should ever be resumed. If the state, verging on collapse for half a century, cannot be taken in hand by its own citizens, US citizens who have their on pressing concerns, should not have to bear the fiscal consequences of Pakistani corruption and mismanagement." - Eric, Florida

"Pakistan does not deserve any military aid - period. They had been misusing such aid to be more stronger in nuclear arms. The Pakistani miliatry objective is to fight India to revenge the loss of Bangladesh in 1971. The ISI who bilks money from Government and miliatry supports terrorism against India, talibans aganst Afghanistan and al-quaida in Pakistan. The world does not need any proof of it. The tough talk or cooperation by the by the Pakistani civilian government does noy mean anything and they can be toppled by military or ISI. Pakistan's nuclear arms muct be netralized to make it a civilzed state in the mission of trhe world peace. There is another axis that must be watched as well - China axis aganst USA and India." - Christen, North carolina

"cannot afford to live in denial anymore. We need to set strict parameters and demand accountability for the Billions of American taxpayer dollars that Pakistan receives each year. Some degree of honesty and responsibility is expected from Pakistan" - Carl, Chicago

"Pakistan is not a rational state. The state itself is founded as a opposite of secular , democratic India. So its a theocratic, bigoted state. Minorities ( Hindus/Sikhs ) made up 25% of West Pakistan before 1947 partition. After 1947 , Pakistan which was founded as a Islamic state, as opposed secular, diverse, pluralistic India, went on a genocidal spree, resulting in the fact that today Hinu/Sikhs make 1% of the population. No amount of money can change the DNA of such a vile state founded on hate and bigotry. In 1971, Pakistan army murdered anathor million of its own citizens, Muslim Bengalis this time. So USA has to understand that money wont change Pak behaviour. Isolation, not doing business with and sticks will have far greater success" - Alison, San Antanio

"Why America is in love with Pakistan since its inception in 1947 is truly a question for historians. Pakistan was formed by British to serve their own purpose of divide and rule the Indian subcontinent. Since then Pakistan has survived by being Anti-Indian in the international politics. Pakistan is simply exploiting current situation in America of Muslim Terrorism. America you got your enemy in Osama Bin Laden, so Obama Pack up and leave Pakistan and use money to better educate American Kids in Math and science. Pakistan deserves to die of its own mistakes" - Jeng, Florida

"Why is even a question... Pakistan was obviously sheltering Bin Laden the complete opposite of what we sponsor them for. How was it possible for Bin Laden to have lived there without rising suspicion? obviously not..... We give them AID money so they can cooperate and so they can protect themselves so it doesn't become a country for radicals but honestly i don't think this is working out. I say cut the help and monitor their every move. this country is as much of a treat as iran. Stop wasting resources on this arabs country, seriously we need to steer in another non middle east dependent way of survival. i dont know how, but thats why we pay taxes; for you guys to govern.
Give us FREEDOM thats all we want" - Roffe, Atlanta

"The question is stupid even child can answer it yes but our stupid politician will continue to support it" - Adam, Boston

"We'll never know whether aid is a mistake or not. So, save the cash. That's almost always the right answer." - Lacey, galveston

"it is time to pull out of all this foreign aid. These countries take our money, but as evidenced by the latest actions in Pakistan, they are not an ally. There's no accountability politically, socially, or economically. Stop wasting billions." - Sarah, Pennsylvania

"Any wonder where that money went? It was used to buy F-16s, nuke fissile material, heavy battle tanks and other gear that cannot be used in the mountains of Afghanistan. All that gear is aimed against India. And oh, part of that money that American tax payers sent was used to kill American soldiers. Couldn't find a bigger fool than USA." - Gary, Austin

"Without accountability for the money we lavish on Pakistan, there is no reason to believe that the military and intelligence service haven't simply ignored any information that would have led to Osama bin Laden's capture or death a long time ago, knowing that when he was found, amounts of money would shrink. Bin Laden was a meal ticket for the power brokers in Pakistan. If we spend any more money in Afghanistan, it should be to build a wall around the country. If they can't act responsibly (by our standards), then let them eat sand. - Brehman, Washington"

"Stop sending money to aid Pakistan. They feel they are the be all end all and can be snooty, let them survive on their own. Of course, that will lead to them being the hub of all terrorists everywhere. I guess they already are. So, what do we lose by keeping our money? They have been playing both sides, and now that OBL has been killed, their buddies the terrorists need to see them stand up to the US. That is what is most revealing to me." - Anonymous

"cut down the aid to 10% And stay in Pakistand untill other terrorist captured and killed. You gotta crush ISI before anything can move. Then focus on SECURING NUCLEAR arsenals and materials. Wait, the materials are in Chinese, you must have an interpreter with you." - Spalding, Las Vegas

"Texas Congressman Ron Paul has called for the U.S. to end all military aid to Egypt, Israel, Pakistan and Jordan. He is correct that we are broke and could save $6 billion a year this way. In addition, we should not be giving Egypt billions of dollars in weapons that it uses against its own people, should not be giving Israel billions of dollars that it uses to massacre Palestinian civilians in Gaza, should not be giving Pakistan billions of dollars to support al-Qaeda. - Ron, Dallas"

"With the budget crisis in this country we should stop giving our money away to foreign countries, period. None of them are giving us money. Let them fend for themselves. So many of them want to kill us, let them all die in poverty, instead of funneling our tax money to corrupt governments. Oh, by the way, that includes Israel. Pull the troops out of Iraq and Afghanistan, and bring them home to secure our border" - Shaun, Jericho

"I think the United States government needs to severely lessen the financial aid until the Pakistani government gets its act together. Obviously, they can't decide whose side to be on. Our government will continue to pressure them to take a position until they do, but this could take many years, considering the history of the United States - Pakistan relations. We must walk this fine line between serving justice and causing further threats to be posed to the U.S. citizens. People in Pakistan, or anywhere for that matter, don't just build a $1 million dollar house everyday in the middle of a village. No one questioned this at all? Of course they knew; it's common sense. It is getting them to admit it that will prove to be the challenge. - Leide, California"

"Our foreign relations with Pakistan is not because they are a major consumer of America's exports, but because America is skeptical of nations that have nuclear weapons. And naturally, the terrorists have long used Pakistan as a heaven to spread terror throughout the world. Bottom line is that Hillary Clinton has no leverage there, and unless she goes with money falling from the bag she is carrying, then she is like other countries she visits and accomplishes nothing. Afghanistan and Pakistan are only interested in foreign aid, and the day we remove our troops will be the day our foreign aid is reduced. We don't need to bribe the governments to help us fight the taliban. The U.S. needs to understand the ways of the western world can not be sold." - Pete, Georgia

"stop ALL foreign aid for a year. Then assess who our friends are ... and support them. It's time to get out of the shadows of the CIA, the fog of war and get an accounting of where others stand ... with or against us. And treat them appropriately. Simple yes? Effective? Very. We can't be the strength that the world requires by diluting our assets all around the globe -- with dubious results. The Pakistanis are taking our money and are now humiliating us in front of the rest of the world. That's an unacceptable and untenable proposition for the long term" - Susan, Detriot

"If I was at the helm of this Country as Obama, I would be taking the threat Pakistan poses very seriously. No matter what our U.S government says, these fellas are playing a double game. Their links to terrorism and their ownership of nuclear weapons is extremely dangerous. It's the same thing with the Mumbai incident in India. Pakistan allows terrorists to operate with impunity and foments the hate of the U.S Harboring Bin Laden, what a joke. Aid needs to be cut immediately." - Paul, San Antonio

"Of course it should be cut. To zero. Not to punish the Pakistani regime and not just because it's wasting our money. It's much worse than that. The money is actually being used for terrorism, not on ly to harbor terrorists (e.g., the late bin Laden) but for actual terrorism itself (e.g., the Mumbai raid and massacre).
There simply isn't any good reason to continue appeasing these gangsters in uniform." - Ted, Columbus

Did it never occur to anyone, that US "plays both sides against the middle", so its military industrial complex keeps receiving "20% of the Federal Budget per annum"? More than the Captain Obviousâ„¢ observation that Pakistan may have known about Osama's whereabouts all along, and was fleecing US, the question that the US taxpayer should be asking is that didn't the US intelligence know about the Pakistani fleece all this while? I don't buy it.
