The vast majority of Filipino are Pro-US. In almost all Filipino would migrate to the US if given the chance. Only Duterte and his minions are anti-US and anti-EU. They're traitors!

The vast majority of the people want money. They would migrate anywhere that would pay them more. The only love they have for the US is how much $$$ they can get out of it thanks to the failure of the government to get them out of poverty. You will find them in every corner of the globe doing some kind of menial work that pays 10X more than if they did the same thing at home.

You don't understand the Philippine psyche. We consider ourselves the adopted children of America. In fact, the #1 place majority would like to migrate is America, not Australia, NZ or Uk, especially not non-English speaking EU countries.

I grew up with WW2 stories from my grandfather who fought a guerilla warfare against Japs with Americans. Filipinos died with Americans in WW2 amd that created an emitiinal bond thst runs to this day.

Filipino "nationalsts" (idiots pretending to love our country), mostly driven by selfish intetests to rule without big brother looking on, agitated for early i dependence in 1946 then kicked out US bases in the 1990s. So where are we now? Hostage of China and unable to extract resources in SCS which is ours as tjese are under our EEZ. In fact the UNCLOS tribunal alresdy ruled in our favor. But how to enforce it with a military that cannot even defeat insurgencies and a Government infected by Chinese malware (Duterte)?

Same thing happened to France, you don't see French wanting to flood American shores. It is poverty that drives their migration. The Duterte vote was an expression of wanting to reclaim their nationalism and stop being the pawns of other nations, especially the US. The fact Duterte is selling out to China is why he is a failure, not his anti-US sentiment. The people of the Philippines wanted Duterte to be their Charles de Gaulle... unfortunately he is no CdG.

The Duterte vote has nothing to do with nationalism. Even those ardently anti-Chinese voted for this con man.
He has turned the last election into an anti-crime election.

Chinese new millionaores want to live more in US and Canada. So they go for golden visas but still cannot totally live in US or Canada since their sources of income are in China. They send instead their children.

And talking about migration and China, I have yet to hear a single Filipino dream of living in China. Instead, poor Chinese are swamping the Philippines for permanent residecies and then citizenship! And f$%k some of them are drug smugglers under Duterte's protection.

USS Gerald Ford's EMALS and AAG cleared for use on all aircrafts
Man the new aircraft carrier of usa is a disaster if you read detailed navy blogs.Just like the new lcs and ddg 1000.

But these videos make it seem like everything is fine.

Just read what navy enthusiast and people placed close to the job have to say and you will see.

Just visit navy-matters.blogspot.com or cdrsalamander.blogspot.com.

They study the details.Even the us navy ns not hiding the failure of ddg 1000 and lcs.the new carrier is not going to be much improved than the old Nimitz and that is if it gets it operational itself.

This is happening to a country that has a huge history of producing good ships fast.

They wasted two decades of time.the opportunity cost is massive.

Seeing this the procurement crisis we face look small. While this time china produced many workhorse like ships like America in WW2.

The lcs orders have been truncated, the first four ships of its class are going to prematurely retire becuz they were like ioc variants and they have restarted the frigate procurement program.

The ddg 1000 has been limited to experimental ship class of only 3 after its main purpose was gone after its intended main weapon's ammo was found to be more expensive than it's worth, the system itself was not developed. The navy is deciding what to do with them and they will probably decide to make the floating missile ships like the kirov.however the whole idea of making them the usa future Burke ddg has fallen through and all this time development money is waste.atleast we don't have such wastes in our country.

Now the carrier costs 15-16 billion that is more than 2 and a half times that of a Nimitz which is still has not launched an aircraft at full load, they issues with emal which everyone was much wow here about.they even have issues with even the damn lifts on the ship.

The most significant developments is that china during the time period of 2000 to 2020 has closed the gap almost with usa in terms of decent ships in terms of nos and quality while the usa is stuck with these.even if you say the chinese navy is inexperienced and less tech savvy, how long will that edge last because on paper they have almost closed that.and nos have a quality of their own too.

The only saving grace for the us is that their submarine arm is going good but not excellent in terms of ssbn and SSN and cruise missile subs.

USS Gerald R Ford aviators counseled for wearing patch depicting bat as ‘China’s Newest Carrier'
KATHERINE HAFNER, THE VIRGINIAN-PILOT

Aviators in a small training detachment aboard the USS Gerald R. Ford were recently counseled by leadership after wearing an unauthorized and inappropriate patch, the Navy said.
Half of the patch, according to a photo on Twitter, included the aircraft carrier’s logo with the words “America’s Newest Carrier” and “Integrity at the Helm.” The other half, however, depicted an image of a bat with the words “China’s Newest Carrier,” a reference to one theory about the origins of the novel coronavirus.
“The patch in question was inappropriate and not consistent with uniform regulations, which state patches must be appropriate in nature and approved by commanding officers,” Cmdr. Jennifer Cragg, spokeswoman for Naval Air Force Atlantic, said in an email Thursday.
Officials became aware of the patch a week ago, Cragg said in the email. It’s unclear where it came from.
“The small number of aviators who had the patch were counseled, and leadership made clear to everyone in the squadron that the patch was not authorized for wear,” she said.

The Ford, based in Norfolk and commissioned in 2017, is the first of its class and has been intermittently underway for carrier qualifications over the past few months.
