next time CCP wants to do posturing, either they have to do something similar or escalate. if CCP does anything less than current baseline, it's a loss of face for CCP.

By passing through the airspace of friendly countries they are preventing a situation where china disrupts their action midway by doing something in the SCS and later justify it through the 9 dash line.

By taking this route the US leaves only a handful of options for the CCP if they wish to intercept the aircraft.
