The airports in the region are dual use and will thus be used by the PLAAF in case of a conflict.

1 45k ton and 1 35k tonne ferry are currently moving towards Xiamen for loadup.

Both Chinese aircraft carriers are now out in the sea and various destroys have been deployed between Taiwan and Japan.

Yes, something will definitely happen from China's end - the takeover of smaller islands is being talked about as the most likely course of action.

The big question in my opinion is, how will Taiwan / USA respond? Will they choose to impose sanctions, which is a euphemism for 'looking the other way' or will they react with force? I don't think the USA wants another war while Russia is already pounding Ukraine. Both USA & China will be able to save face, USA got their speaker to land in Taiwan in spite of heavy Chinese aggression while China will get something minor in return which can be portrayed as a massive win. That will be the end of this story for now
