1.they take taiwanese islands close to mainland and SCS...then threatens to invade mainland(maybe does some missile attacks).
2.US/West intervenes and get into a standoff....
3.china tries to get concessions from taiwan like 1country 2 govt like HK or forces taiwan to accept a party chosen by china.
4.western countries get major arms deals due to bad security situation in the region

But what if Taiwan declares independence the moment they capture those islands?

Its a very funny situation, where two dogs stare down at each other both both are too scared to advance.
But if US sees through the hogwash of propoganda and threats and gets some balls, she will visit Taiwan and china will do the usual chinki stuff of decreasing the lofe of chinki airframes by having them fly here and there with the usual propoganda, that too I don't think the chonks will dare to deploy anything let alone jets while she is still in Taiwan, they would do it after she leaves.
The meetings currently in china would be of Xi discussing with his LGBTQ RGB buddy about how to show the world that Nancy left 1 hour earlier due to fear of us chonks or we would have attacked, or how the chinese superior stealth fighters are so stealthy that no one saw where they were.

australia have been quite vocal about china's policies but there's considerable distance between china and AUS and australia has american and UK backing
