It isn't. No navy in the world can challenge Indian Navy within Indian ocean, RuN within Arctic and PLAN within SCS except US Navy.

UK itself is too prone today to an imperial invasion. Without the cover of NATO, it would have become itself a colony in cold war itself.

There is no such stupid diplomatic statement in existence from Britain.

India was actually good even when Muslim invaders snatched it from Indian kings and then wars between Mughals, Marathas and British began. Initial British decades too were okay except their social engineering projects. Issues emerged when Brits started to exploit India to win wars with European powers. In 1910s and 1920s, they turned India into a complete shithole.

As for their policy towards India, it depends upon political party in power. Labour party is antipathic towards India in general and makes such references and while conservatives prefer minding their own business. The current British prime minister Boris Johnson too is quite India friendly and India's best bet in west.

Over all of this, British opinion here doesn't have anything to do in India's affairs. Britain lags behind Indian military itself on overall firepower, it isn't a politically relevant issue in India unlike vice versa. How many times India even bothers to react to British statements on anything?

Indian defense industry and soft power growing,indigenous equipments given priority instead of American one's.
Not cancelling S400 despite pressure from US govt.
Work of Chahbar port on full swing
India getting leverage on indo-pak conflict by which they used to corner India and suppress the growth.
Prior intelligence/prediction that Indian economy will outperform and will grow very fast soon and can overtake US.
