Developed by TEI, 2xTS1400 has flown Gökbey helicopter yesterday. This is tremendous achievement for Turkey. It's the first time an indigenous turbine engine flew also an indigenous aircraft. This shows how matured the engine has become. Pending EASA certificate, the engine will go into serial production in 2025.

The first batch is 250?

Yes 250 tanks for the first batch between 2025-2030. Depending on the success of the indigenous power pack, most of these tanks could be powered by Turkish powertrain. BMC Power has built 5 BATU engines for testing so far and these engines had accumulative 610 hours of testing by last month. If everything goes right, the MBTs from the second half of 2026 on will be delivered with Turkish powerpack.
