A quick Wiki info;
The
TF-2000-class destroyer is a projected
anti-air warfare destroyer currently undergoing development by the Turkish Naval Institute. The class will provide survivability in the presence of aerial threat and also support mission functions such as
command, control, and communications,
reconnaissance,
early warning,
surface warfare,
anti-submarine warfare and
electronic warfare. On 5 December 2007, Defence Industry Executive Committee approved plans to build six ships of this class (4 fixed, 2 optional). In January 2013, it was announced that Turkey was planning to acquire a total of 8 TF-2000 destroyers, which was confirmed in
International Defence Industry Fair (IDEF) 2021. With the realization of the project, it is intended to improve the
anti-air warfare (AAW) capabilities of the
Turkish Navy.
---
Now that you're roughly familiar with the ship, let's get into its components and the contribution of the Turkish designed and manufactured subsystems.
From the top,
-Laser Electronic Attack System(NAZAR)
The NAZAR Land System protects vital military sites and infrastructure by providing broadband state-of-the-art laser functional destruction capabilities against EO/IR guided missiles. Because of its broadband operation capabilities, NAZAR has been developed not just to be effective against known EO/IR guided missiles, but also to include reconnaissance and surveillance features that will give it an advantage against asymmetric threats.
- Close-in Weapon System(GÖKDENİZ)
GOKDENIZ CIWS along with 35 mm Airburst Ammunition (ATOM) developed by ASELSAN is a close-in weapon system (CIWS) highly effective against anti-ship missiles. The system with the Automatic Linkless Ammunition Feed Mechanism allows loading both HEI and Airburst Ammunition at the same time and switching between ammunition types as needed. In addition to anti-ship missiles, GOKDENIZ is also effective against helicopters, fighters, UAVs and asymmetric surface naval threats.
- Decoy Launching System(KALKAN)
TF-2000 HSHM will have a Decoy Launching System (KALKAN) that has nationally designed software and hardware that is capable of launching decoys against RF and IR guided missiles automatically, semi-automatically and manually, issuing tactical recommendations against guided missiles and is integrable with the Combat Management System.
I couldn't find any recent info or photo about the project. It'll be revealed when ready(probably).
- LPI Radar(ALPER Naval LPI Radar)
ALPER is a low probability of intercept (LPI) naval radar system for the detection of sea surface targets. Developed specifically for wartime navigation of military vessels,
ALPER's LPI characteristic is vital in detecting surrounding targets while not being detected by enemy vessels.
ALPER's design allows for integration with Warfare Management Systems and existing navigation radars on the vessel, and hence can be operated via a mutual console. Therefore,
ALPER can conveniently be integrated on all types of vessels.
- Electro-Optical Director(SeaEye-AHTAPOT, Aselflir-300D)
- ARES series Radar Electronic Support Systems(ESM)
ARES-2N has detection, diagnosis, classification, tracking, navigation, locating, voice alert, platform association and broadcast recording capabilities. The system is of vital importance for the platform, especially against radar-guided anti-ship missile attacks, because the ARES-2N ED system can precisely detect the direction and elevation angles by early detection of targets emitting RF signals and identification of the target type.

Hisar (Turkish: "fortress") is a family of short, medium and long-range
surface-to-air missile systems being developed by
Roketsan and
Aselsan since 2007. The missiles are developed by Roketsan, while most sensors and electronics are developed by Aselsan. The missile family consists of the short range
Hisar-A, medium range
Hisar-O, the 100 km long range
Hisar-U and the 150 km air defence system SİPER. Missile seeker of Hisar-A and Hisar-O is
infrared homing.
The Block-2 of the missile will have 150km. Block-1 and Block-2 of the SİPER family is expected to enter service by 2025. The final version of the family will be the Anti-Ballistic Missile(ABM) and expected to enter inventory by 2028.
- Cruise Missile(GEZGİN)
The missile is subsonic, long range(1000km+), being developed by Tübitak-SAGE. The research-institution is very secretive about the project. We don't have any photo of it, yet. Developed the SOM(Stand-off-missile) missile, the institute has ample experience with cruise missiles. The GEZGİN missile is much anticipated by the followers of the industry. Kale-Arge(R&D) is the developer of the engine of the missile.(ARAT project)

- Vertical Launch System(MDAS)
This is another item we're sanctioned with. We can't get our hands on Mk-41. So ASELSAN was tasked with the development of the system. Normally, we were told the firing tests of the system would commence this year but it didn't happen yet. So it will probably extend to 2023. Fingers crossed.
- Multi Functional Phased Array Radar(ÇAFRAD)
Undisputedly the most important element of this list.
The ÇAFRAD radar is being developed for the future TF-2000 Frigates anti air warfare of the Turkish Navy. It will come in the form of an integrated mast combining four main sensors (
from top to bottom):
– An active, non-rotating IFF Antenna
– An X-band active phased array multi-function radar (150 km range and track capacity in excess of 1000 targets)
– An X-band active phased array illumination radar (150 km range)
– An S-band active phased array long range search radar (450 km range and track capacity in excess of 2000 targets
The project consists of two phases. The first phase of the program used GaAs modules. In 2019, TCG Göksu, a Perry-class Frigate (the former USS Estocin), was used as a test platform for the ÇAFRAD program. A prototype ÇAFRAD system was fitted on the helicopter deck of the frigate. The sea-trials were successful and the project moved to the second-phase.

In the second phase of the program, the radar will utilize home-grown GaN modules.
- 127mm Naval Gun
We didn't intend to develop a naval gun, or caliber of this size, at least. But this is also another weapon we're sanctioned with. We can't buy neither 76mm or 127mm version of Oto Malera naval gun. MKE(The Mechanical and Chemical Industry Corporation), made a surprising reveal in December,2021, showed the live-fire test of 76mm indigenous gun.
