Americans are still making them pay the fees of hangars that the F35 they were supposed to get are kept.

>You can't get these jets:truestory:
>You can't get a refund:troll:
>You have to pay (((maintence fees))) for these jets that you can't use :bplease:

I now know why we're loyal customers of Roosi and Baguette only.

If Congress blocks their engine plans for the Kaan, they'll have no choice but to get engines from China or Russia. Should be a good catalyst for their quick eviction from NATO. Turkey is a rogue state responsible for most of the problems in the neighborhood and a staunch advocate for ethnic cleansing. A leech sucking off NATO tech since they were allowed a corner spot on the club couch, using their geographical location and this club membership to get what they want. They need the paxtan treatment, no F-16 deal should be entertained. Let their fleet slowly rust away, there's a limit on how many sub-components they can indigenize with their imported army of engineers, without direct OEM support. Arm Greece to the teeth with Rafales and F-35s, and the next time Turkish air force acts uppity, shoot their birds down. Fund and heavily arm militants or mercs to hunt down Turkish expeditionary forces and remove their presence abroad. The Turkish economy is already hanging from a thin thread, the moment they get booted from NATO it'll collapse.

You can't just fit any engine on a jet.
If murricans doesn't provide them the engines their program is dead.

They can redesign it a bit to shove two AL-31s in. Similar dimensions to the F110.
I don't think it works like that. You can't just shove any engine even with similar dimensions unless you design the plane in its inception for that. If they had designed that keeping in mind of F110 only, then their program is as good as dead. Even if Americans supplied engine, you now have a fleet of 5th gen Aircraft that is dependent on US goodwill for spareparts and maintenance for next 50 years. Unless they redesign the plane for a domestic engine which is near impossible.
