This may create some serious geopolitical changes.

Trump pulls US out of Iran deal

US President Donald Trump says he will withdraw the US from an Obama-era nuclear agreement with Iran.

Calling it "decaying and rotten", he said the deal was "an embarrassment" to him "as a citizen".

Going against advice from European allies, he said he would reimpose economic sanctions that were waived when the deal was signed in 2015.

In response, Iran said it was preparing to restart uranium enrichment, key for making both nuclear energy and weapons.

Iran's President Hassan Rouhani said: "The US has announced that it doesn't respect its commitments.

"I have ordered the Atomic Energy Organisation of Iran to be ready to start the enrichment of uranium at industrial levels."

He said he would "wait a few weeks" to speak to allies and those who were committed to the nuclear deal.

"All depends on our national interests," he said.

In a statement, France, Germany and the UK - who are also signatories to the deal - have said they "regret" the American decision.

The European Union's top diplomat, Federica Mogherini, said the EU was "determined to preserve" the deal.

But Israel's Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu says he "fully supports" Mr Trump's "bold" withdrawal from a "disastrous" deal.

Mr Trump had previously complained that the deal only limited Iran's nuclear activities for a fixed period; had failed to stop the development of ballistic missiles; and had handed Iran a $100bn (£74bn) windfall that it used "as a slush fund for weapons, terror, and oppression" across the Middle East.

These sanctions apply to US companies. This just opens the door for France to dominate Iranian reconstruction.

No financial transaction can take place without US approval between France and Iran. Any bank or business violating US sanctions cannot trade in or with US- hence every bank/ business in the world follows US sanctions.

France can do whatever it wants, we are sovereign and not reliant on US financial institutions. The EU is not withdrawing from the deal so the US can suffer its own consequences by diminishing the importance of the dollar.

There is an old plan to destroy Iraq, Libya, Syria and Iran.... two nations have been destroyed....next two are in line of fire.
The aim is to take total control of middle east and install Israhell as its master. Then, with OIL tap in hand..countries like India and China will be made subservient..
But..China has started pipelines of oil from Russia so ...can do without Middle East Oil....what will happen to India..Only God knows...will it be forced to go back under western colonial rule..?

Israhell isn't even a player. No one in the region does business with them. The two power players are France and China. We already beat them out in Libya forcing them to lose $22 billion while we lead reconstruction. We are beating China in Iran and we have poll position in Syria when reconstruction begins. Iraq is dominated by US interests but France has a much higher position than China. We wanted to kick China out of Egypt and now France is the major arms supplier. On all counts France is destroying China. India needs to get in on some of this action to help stop Chinese colonialism. Iran is a good place to start.

I dislike arguments about things that are welknown. So this is my last post on this. Impact of US sanctions is one of those welknown things and it is the reason India is asking for waiver from US for buying Russian weapons. All independent French institutions come under US laws if they want to deal with US and they cannot afford not to deal with US, hence the impact.

You can dislike whatever you want, your feelings are not relevant to the discussion. The facts are French financial services do little business in the US and accounts for little of the industry. Most of it is with the EU as you would expect, even Africa is more important. If the US doesn't want to be part of the supply chain they can easily be replaced along with their currency. The EU stands ready to centralize without US interference. This is a very positive development for Europe.

IMO US/ Israel first attempted a civil war situation in Iran just like how it began in Syria, but it failed to gather steam. Therefore they decided to go the Iraq route. Israel cries WMD and Trump pulls out of the nuke deal. Its history repeating itself.

You are correct. But what just happened may be the beginning of the end for US dominance. I think this time Europeans are sick with American blackckmailing and we might stand against against Trump. We will see.

Firstly Trump did what he promised in his election campaign.
Secondly Saudi GDP growth was going down because of low oil prices, we might see 100$ per barrel by next year.

Thirdly push for electric vehicles slacked in between due to low oil prices, we might see renewed interest once and for all ...

Iran nuclear deal not dead despite Trump move, France says

France's Foreign Minister Jean-Yves Le Drian says the Iranian nuclear deal is "not dead" despite US President Donald Trump's decision to withdraw.

The 2015 agreement curbed Iran's nuclear activities in return for the lifting of sanctions that had been imposed by the UN, US and EU.

But Mr Trump argued that the deal was "defective at its core", saying he would pull out and reimpose sanctions.

Other signatories to the nuclear accord say they remain committed to it.

The deal was agreed between Iran and the five permanent members of the UN Security Council - the US, UK, France, China and Russia - plus Germany. It was struck under Mr Trump's predecessor, Barack Obama.

Iran said it would try to salvage the agreement, but would restart uranium enrichment if it could not.

In a statement, President Hassan Rouhani said: "If we achieve the deal's goals in co-operation with other members of the deal, it will remain in place."

The EU and the French can work in Iran, Libya all they want, they'll soon realize such investments in reconstruction in this region is dead weight. Libya, Iraq, Syria, Iran are shitholes and that won't change just because EU pours in billions in that region. Trump's just cutting his losses and siding with Israel, the choice for the US being quite simple really, Jeru is the eternal city of Christians & Jews and there is no way in hell will this place be allowed to be in the hands of Muslims or threatened to be wiped out.

The real battle is between the Shias and Sunnis, Trump again made a smart move by siding with Saudi which is the home of Islam in a majority 85-90% Sunni Islamic world.

Funny how some say Israel isn't a player in the region, as soon as Trump recognizes Jeru as capital of ISrael, everyone of these dufuses around the world ends up having profuse constipation. Any deal in the middile East needs Israel, half ass attempts such as Ombaba nuke deal were pretty pointless because of this. Israel happens to have the best intel and operational abilities in it's surroundings. Even if this deal continues with US out, Israel won't allow for Iran to have a nuke. Also if anyone has the balls to do something about it is Israel. So while it's fine that the EU continues it's investments, their portfolio just got riskier by staying is this BS deal with Israel motivated more than ever to stopping Iran

Iran is deadweight, China buys plenty of oil from them just as India, they picked their side. India should stop with Iran and get it's oil from Saudi and other Sunni oil states. This is not an endorsement of the House of Saud, on the long run, it would do them good to become a bit more tolerant and reign in wahabi assholes who have been promoting the Sunni radical wave.

Saudi backs this pull out from the deal, probably with agreements to increase supply when needed to keep Oil price low.

Seems Iran had anticipated Trump's move and hence they preemptively walked out of petrodollar. Iran would be able to do business in alternate currencies which means economically they will minimise the effects. As far as India is concerned do the sanctions affect the India Iran trade out of Chahabar???.

Iran is too strong a country to bring down. Far more important to Russians than Syria. Russia Iran combine saved Assad from defeat even though Syria was attacked by Turks, Israelies, US, Nato and Saudi backed millitias. Trump is no fool to attack Iran directly. He will threaten, coerce, push Iran to the limits and finally negotiate on stronger terms just the way he did with NorthKorea.
