Lots of analysis up here based on flawed assumptions. Here's what's happening:

1) The SIGINT is from one of the 5-eyes members, so it's the US. The mastermind behind this is the US, and they are manipulating the idiot in charge in Canada in a proxy fight vs India. The CIA has provided the intelligence by snooping on the Indian mission. Likely they have some intercept that implicates a R&AW official in some vague way - but this is enough for them.

2) To think that US (or any other Anglo country) will dump one of their 5eyes for even another European country is unthinkable - forget about India. They've been trying regime change in India and protecting terror of every sort for decades since 1947. They're the main funders and groomers of the Khalistan movement - NOT Pakistan.

3) It doesn't matter whether it's the Dems or the Reps - hostility to India is bipartisan and comes from the deep state's colonial mindset. They want a few Indians to work for them and make them progress in tech, but no way will they allow India to become a geopolitical and civilisational challenge like China has become.

Indians should stop thinking they've arrived just because of some applause when Modi speaks in the US Congress and lots of chai samosa and hugs and kisses. They did that with the Saudis - and then Biden wanted to make MBS a pariah. They did that with Saddam - and then proceeded to hang him.

If you are not a white Anglo they will ALWAYS be hostile to you. Indians need to get this into their heads. All else follows from there.

Modi knows this and he's just trying to get as much out of the relationship with the West as he can before it sours permanently, while keeping BRICS alive and expanding it.

4) They've done this cleverly - intercepted communication, refused to share details with India, gotten a lightweight like Trudeau to go public with it, been very reserved from the US side (giving Indians a false sense of security). It's a trap laid for Modi - disclose that you have evidence without sharing it, get India to deny the evidence, and then proceed to leak it. The aim is to make an MBS out of Modi. Let's see how Modi-Jaishankar-Doval respond.
Very aptly put.

This was trap for Modi.

What is most important is how he handles domestic fallout of this saga.

MBS profile has risen since the incident.
If anything this really fuels the strong man protector image that people expected out of Modi. Better to be seen as a strong country that pursues and destroys its enemies. In an election year this is pretty much a gift.

Yeah man..

US and Canada providing definite proofs that Modi killed terrorists in Canada is going to hurt Modi domestically..

Imagine being an Indian and getting proofs that Modi has killed terrorists harming India, in other countries like Canada and US.
What do you think will happen domestically?
You think Congress and secular parties are going to dharna that Modi killed terrorist in Canada?

This is basically the worst case scenario playing out for Indian opposition.
Last thing they want is Modi being seen as offing terrorists across the ocean.

I don't know, may be someone can explain to me what this 'domestic fallout' of this whole saga is..
see the news, talk to people, even opposition leaders are not daring to speak out of line on this & it is for a specific reason.

so much for intercepting communications as said by cancuck.
if they had so much int. then them canadians would have intercepted and caught them those who shot sukhdool .
Actually, canada would have made a "scene" of such if they had prior intelligence.

Only domestic fallout will be if there are any serious sanctions, leading to crash in economy. But that will be nuclear option and ensure India-west ties are fucked forever.

If Canada says there is Indian involvement then Modi becomes hero, nationalistic movement of BJP will rise because the situation becomes Modi vs Anglosphere. India will not participate in USA's indo-pacific strategy and the world moves on after Modi winning the election.

If this saga continues then BJP can use this for elections. The dead guy is a terrorist not an leader with huge fan following. These terrorists are criminals who run organized gangs.

There is nothing the west can gain out of this.

Nothing is going to happen.

"There's not some special exemption you get for actions like this. Regardless of the country, we will stand up and defend our basic principles and we will also consult closely with allies like Canada as they pursue their law enforcement and diplomatic process."

After this American statement everything is as clear as a day for those who know an iota of geopolitics.

America stands with Canada as expacted. India is going to be on the recieving end of 5 Eyes countries. We should start our preparations to decouple from west.

its sad that some journos are misleading public about how Canada isn't getting any support from other Anglo countries. Its dishonest people like them who are telling all sorts of stories of India western special relationship and keeping people in dark. There is nothing special about Indian relationship with west.

Signing of foundational agreements with America was a mistake, Nuclear treaty was a mistake, choosing American jet engines for our planes was a mistake, signing Artemis Accords was a mistake. now our mistakes will compound and bite us back.

Its unfortunate how we didn't pick up any signs from western liberal mainstream media who is loudly anti India for years now. Libral ideology dominates western minds and but we ignored that too.

The split in India USA relationship will begin from now. We are back to 70s.

Decoupling from the west isn't gonna happen. Even China can't do it and India is in no position to do so. We need the technology investments. Canada is one useless roadside dog that doesn't deserve any attention, but we have to manage this relationship with the US and have a good relationship with them atleast for the next 10-20 years.

Nope, language is hardening.

It may be a regime change operation as well. Embarrass India, make "ground" for Modi's loss and Pappu gets the crown.
I also feel the same. Their tone is changing day by day. I think they didnt expect this to get so ugly but now they have no option but to come and protect their Five eyes poodle. White would be preferred anyday when its against us brownies.

That would make Modi even a bigger hero.

here is a man who tried to protect India by killing terrorists.
Now white western nations are screwing India for protecting itself from terrorists.

Going into election year, how do you think that narrative sounds.

And good luck to any american brand trying to sell their stuff in India.
They would be lucky if they are not burned to the ground.

but this won't result in regime change.

Why would any Indian be offended knowing modi offed a terrorist in Canada?!

Them going about regime change like this does not make sense.
It will have exactly opposite effect to what they are hoping.

Time for India to do two things ~
1) Empower Hindu Canadians into a votebank, make them rally out against Trudeau.
2) Try to funnel a propaganda of Khalistan in Canada. Can just start with some online videos, some streets or areas being renamed....some hate crime against goras.

This should end their Khalistan experiment in long term.
One more…

3) Distribute pain to families back home in india of khalis who migrated. This makes future khalis do a re-think.

This needs to be below radar lest mi-laudas and hooman raitas get a whiff of it.

It will happen if they want it, not our choice and neither should we charter our course solely on that. We need to move faster in everything that is critical when making deals. Too many spineless countries and people now then anytime in world history. This may also have something to do with rupee taking off in trade.

Gurpatwant Singh Pannu next? Not killed by ‘Indian agents’, but Pakistan: What some in Intelligence believe might be fallout of Justin Trudeau’s shenanigans

“Pakistan has a history of eliminating and getting rid of the terrorists they create to further demonise India on an international platform. You see, they have no dirth of those who are brainwashed enough to take on the mantle and continue their campaign of terrorism against India. Once a terrorist gains momentum internationally, Pakistan may eliminate him to blame India, riding on the statement of Justin Trudeau, to justify further terrorist activity against India”, he said.

Your analysis could be correct

but

Why is the US assuming Modi will be displeased with this in anyway or form?
This is an election year.
If US or Canada leaks proof of Modi offing terrorists in foreign lands, he will win 2024 in a landslide.

Unlike MBS, who does not need to be elected and hence what happened makes sense,
in Indian context, Modi is going for re-election. Any proof that he offed terrorists in Canada provided by west is going to be absolutely great for Modi, electorally.

If they can't get him electorally, what is the play here?
Make him a pariah? He will be a hero in India.
So, sanctions? they can try..
Concessions some where else? all Modi needs to do is call their bluff.

There really is no outcome that will hurt Modi. And some outcomes would be massive boost for him electorally.

I would really like to expand on this and see how any play made here would hurt Modi in anyway.
This isn't about Modi. This is about rise of India.

India is currently looking at a very fast pace growth period. To hinder this or to delay this west aka Americans may use dirty tricks to target certain parts of economy especially technology.

Remember how ISRO fell behind Chinese space agency because of America sanctions on Indian space program. Or how Tejas got delayed because of American sanctions.

These Anglo-Saxons think they and only they are boss of the world and They are trying everything they can to maintain their status. Their fight against Russia is all about Anglo-Saxon hegemony in Europe, their fight against China is also all about Anglo-Saxon hegemony in Asia. Ukraine and Taiwan are just excuses.

Now they have one excuse against India. They will slowly use this excuse to buildup towards targetted sanctions so their usual trade can continue and it also hurts Indian economy especially technology sectors.

Below is video from American pro liberal journalist who has a huge sway in democratic party. Listen to the languages. We can clearly see their intent.
