AMOLED is brighter than LCD. There is a shortage of AMOLED supply from Samsung. Three Chinese companies are stepping up as suppliers of AMOLED for major Chinese smartphone companies, such as Xiaomi, ZTE, and possibly Huawei.

"AMOLED (active-matrix organic light-emitting diode, /ˈæmoʊˌlɛd/) is a display technology used in smartwatches, mobile devices, laptops, and televisions."

"AMOLED, which stands for Active Matrix OLED, is a hybrid display technology that pairs the active matrix backplane from a traditional TFT display with an OLED display."
