there is a fancy 3 stage plan for "infinite energy" from nuclear reactors . its still stuck in step 2 for ages now .

We have had no new information, atleast I haven't seen, in last couple of years. We were leaders in this field. Not sure what is the situation now.

Such projects are really long and public information are released only on milestones.

Yes, I have worked on engineering something for BARC facility a couple of months ago which I don't want to disclose.

I'm useless anyway since even I don't know what that equipment is being built for. I was just given material, procedure and engineering drawings by my company to build that thing and no curiosity of us was entertained by BARC officials.

things are not so bad , we have the fast breeder reactor , started running a year ago , i think its the largest one and best of its kind - chinese only have smaller one build with russian help .

it can turn thorium into nuclear fuel . this reactor was step 2 in homi baba's ancient 3 stage plan , 3rd stage is a new reactor , like the one chinese build that can take mix thorium and nuclear fuel from breeder reactor .

so with a breeder reactor (we have) and thorium reactor (we dont have) , no need to import nuclear fuel , just mine beach sand for thorium and u can run the entire country .

But there were hints of the system being built, preparations for the test were hidden. I mean we had lot of statements from the men in the loop about having all the building blocks for an Asat. But in this case the information flow just stopped, may be for the good.

Work is underway building experimental systems though.
Nuclear program is far sensitive than ASAT or ABM.

i prefer if we went through the molten/air coolant way so that we don't need to confine nuclear plants next to a water source.are we going to normal liquid coolant way which means we still have to have a reliable liquid coolant pumping system to keep the reactor cooled.

Yeh kab hua ? PFBR has still not gone critical .. last we heard from parlinament that it "will" go critical in october this year.

I believe FBR is a gen 3+ yes or is it gen 4
