3 MERCIAN - Indian Army Exercise on SPTA - 2008

INDIAN ARMY EXERCISE ON SALISBURY PLAIN

For the first time in over 60 years soldiers from the Indian Army are training with British troops on Salisbury Plain. Nearly 140 men from the Punjab-based 16 Mechanised Infantry Battalion are exercising with 3rd Battalion (Staffords) The Mercian Regiment (3 MERCIAN) acting as 'the enemy' in a major military training exercise.

Black INSAS?
Insas 1B1..

1.Lighter than previous Insas..
2.New metallurgy, its thicker but still lighter..
3.New black fiber..
4.Quality is lot better..
5.It sounds lot nicer..

Its a improvement of Insas 1B

Edit: Its replacing older Insas from all Infantry Units in IA..

Wow, this is moving too fast. They aren't even done replacing the old INSAS with the new ones, and they have already started trials for new rifles.

It will take long time to induct new Rifles, First trails then clearence if everything works well..

Than at least it will take 4 years to replace present Rifles..
