After 26/11 every state is raising kalashnikov toting gun men and brands them as commandos...Only a real combat situation will tell whether they are up to the mark of calling themselves as commandos.

alby, at least they are better then having 303 jammed rifle to be used in next terrorist attack. If enemy is having AK and our security forces are having the same, in defensive position we have better change to take them out, given the fact that they cannot call in more men, but we can.

@ saya and tojo....iam too happy with indian police man having kalashnikovs and comando training ...but instead of giving sophisticated training to just these so called QRTs we should also impart basic marksmanship training among common police men...remember how common policeman were unable to cope with the sudden blow they faced on mumbai attack..we should make them confident to face such an attack...

Nice start but we SERIOUSLY NEED some protective gear for the men than those measly BP jackets alone. Their elbows, thighs (renal artery), knees, shin, forearms are ALL exposed. And an AK bullet gives a body splitting pain to anyone living, mostly causing instant death. 7.62mm is not a joke.

I wish each of the states could provide better protective gear against AK bullets. That would be better.

@Tshering this is local product which can withstand AK bullet from more then 50 meters but if shot from less then 50 it can be fatal.

this is top of the line product

this is dragon skin bullet proof jacket, you can see the way circle have been placed that it provide mobility. Where as desi product is just metal sheet, with 10 kg weight, how just imagine having 2 of those at front and back of body, what it will do the soldiers mobilty. Soldiers and police hate it. Still many wear it as it provide protection, as soon as their shift is over they give it back.

can someone post type IV category BPJ made by Indian company.

Looks like PKM is now standered MG in para SF !!

PKM is light enough to be fired from the standing position, and with the 100rd assault pack from the shoulder. It is a good deal lighter than the FNMAG and is easier to control.
