The first woman to join an infantry regiment since defence chiefs lifted a ban on females serving in combat units has quit after just two weeks of training, The Mail on Sunday can reveal.

The recruit dropped out of an 18-week course this month after falling behind her male counterparts on endurance marches and failing other physical tests at a training base in Suffolk.

It is understood that when the woman resigned, she admitted having underestimated the physical requirements of being an infantry recruit. She also told officers that living in female-only accommodation made her feel ‘like an outsider’ and weakened her resolve. Her resignation is a huge blow to officials who are determined to integrate women into fighting units in the Army, Royal Marines and Royal Air Force.

In 2016, then Prime Minister David Cameron said it was essential that the make-up of the Armed Forces reflected society and he lifted the ban on women serving in combat units.

So she doesn't want to live in "female-only" accommodation. Then be ready for accusations of invasion of privacy, patriarchal inappropriate touching, toilet harassment ,man spreading complaints against the entire batch a few weeks down the line

So a woman couldn't hack the physical requirments designed specifically for men, what a shocker!!!!

Wearing #girlpower t-shirts doesn't change the biological fact that humans are sexually dimorphic species.

Men will always have higher bone density, larger lungs and hearts, higher muscle mass, higher twitch rate of the aforementioned muscles and more robust joints even if they are of same height and weight as a woman.

Feminazis are brainwashed by their commie teachers. This is why I oppose W-I-C so much. I will have disastrous consequences on military preparedness.

I am a woman myself but i do not support the lowering of standards for the sake of inclusion. US can afford to do such nonsense since they don't have shi**y neighbours like ours!

There may be 5% of tough women who can actually fight in combat, in the world. Yes, there r exceptions like Dr Seema Rao but how many women r there who can actually walk the talk?

It is crazy to say that military shud "resemble the society"! Military isn't governed by democratic ideals but by its respective armed forces acts which is anything but democratic; so why shud it be judged with the democratic rules?

Besides, equality isn't gained by lowering standards. When u do that, u r being unfair to the men in the forces! There r so many branches in military where women have played stellar roles like being doctors, lawyers, signals officers etc. I believe women make exceptional doctors/care givers/nurturing roles since it comes natural to most women. Even in WW, women served as nurses, doctors etc and played their part in nation building. There r some things women r gud at and some things men excel in. Combat is, i feel, a male dominion and for gud reason. Its not like we r a minority community either. I can't understand this stubbornness for gaining entry into combat role

If feminist still feel women shud b allowed, then women shud be given entry but the standards shud not be lowered even an inch for the sake of inclusion. Now that's gender equality.

But for stating this, i will be shamed, i guess.

It a not entirely about physical capability, which is w/o doubt lower for women.
It is more about what happens when women are put in male only environments which have strict disciplinary standards. Men get really pokey-pokey, camaraderie among soldiers would be lost, they would start disobeying orders and so on. There are studies that point to this end. This isn't good because team work is probably the most important for an armed force, more than weapons and gadgets.

yes, i agree with that too. but i do believe women and men can peacefully co-exist, if there is discipline.
what i have problem is with lowering the physical standards. now, thats playing with national security.
besides, our jawans r from rural backgrounds and i don't know how they will view women alongside them in combat. we don't live in Utopia so we can't expect all men/women to be angels either!

Yes there r female wrestlers in our country but again they r an exception and yes if they make the cut they shud be allowed. But i believe military training is tougher than regular gymying or body building. That model-physiquewaala host, Harman, from Indian Submariners docu was panting like a dog after doing the PT with the rail-thin Navy guys!

Indian women r mostly of small stature especially compared to western countries. I myself is 5 feet 3 inches tall and weighs 48 kgs! Us southern women r even smaller compared to say punjabi women. It wud be unthinkable for me to even dream of lifting, even with training, a man around 5'8, around 70 kgs, which i believe is average Indian male height and weight.

Imagine i joined the army and is asked to fight this man (hypothetically) or a man of similar stature.........yes, joke of the century, i know. I will break in half.

by the way, Col.Sandhu SM, PARA SF; he luks intimidating as hell with his harpoon like stare and that physique!

i posted his pic since girls on scoial medias r now asking how they can join the PARA SF, of all things, thanks to surgical strike fame!!!! soon there will be clamour by feminists for inclusion into SFs!

women should not be allowed in Army ...........

women will start dating / sex with their Male colleagues /seniors /juniors.......this will disturb entire atmosphere /discipline of army .

then they will file fake rape / molestation / sexual harassment cases on their seniors / colleagues.

#metoo #metoo #metoo >>

data from US army >>
From 2009 to 2012, the number of sexual abuse reports rose from 3,244 to 3,374 — a 4 percent increase. During the same period, the number of what the Pentagon calls ‘unfounded allegations’ based on completed investigations of those reports rose from 331 to 444 — a 35 percent increase.” source = http://www.washingtontimes.com/news/2013/may/12/false-reports-outpace-sex-assaults-in-the-military

Thirty-five percent fake rape cases in US Army .........
Pregnancy >> A record 16 out of 100 Navy women are reassigned from ships to shore duty due to pregnancy, according to data obtained under the Freedom of Information Act by The Daily Caller News Foundation’s Investigative Group. The evacuation of pregnant women is costly for the Navy. Jude Eden, a nationally known author about women in the military who served in 2004 as a Marine deployed to Iraq said a single transfer can cost the Navy up to $30,000 for each woman trained for a specific task, then evacuated from an active duty ship and sent to land. That figure translates into $115 million in expenses for 2016 alone.

the military lowers the physical standards for them. The minimum amount of push-ups for males is 35 while females have 13.

They can barely move their own body weight and the military is deciding whether they should be on the front lines with men. Imagine a female, barely weighing a buck ten, trying to carry a wounded man, twice her size, to safety. Not going to happen, feminists.

Speaking of preg., did you know that the German army approved a new pregnancy uniform a month or two back. I'll try to find the link once I reach home.
I read that sometime last month and laughed for hours. Still funny.

50% drop out rate at RAF regiment, I seriously doubt that. This is not an "infantry unit". This is a unit which does guard duty but pretends to be a fighting unit.

I'd rather 10% selection rate than a single 'wamen' empowerment bullshit appointment. Kill commies, stack bodies!

Even if we keep the aspect of male-female physicality aside, we also have to consider the aggression aspect.

Physical aggression is predominantly part of male psychology, which is not the case with females. Let’s keep the exceptions aside.

If a day comes when all countries of the world agree that female infantry regiments will fight only each other, then it is a level playing field.

There are women who can outperform men physically, mentally and intellectually but they are too few in numbers. Problem is that militaries are a mass organisation. Having 3-5 capable women in an infantry company of 130 is not going to be helpful to the army, their male colleagues and to the women themselves. Its a lose-lose proposition.

I don't have a problem with WIC but it simply doesn't pan out in the real world. Women as heli pilots have been serving in India since 1994 and did a good job in Kargil and Siachen. At the same time, vast majority of women will fail to lift a 45kg 155mm arty round, let alone repeat it 50 times a day, trained or not.

There are places where women can serve in the armed forces and excel at their jobs, frontline fighting units are not one of these places.

I hope you don't take what I said in the wrong way 12Arya mam.

Lower the standards isn't the only problem that comes with women in Military.
We have a natural difference between a men and women

Take this for example this is a data complication on Grip strength taken by national heath committee of the United States

The black curves are the average.

You can see now both the gender start out equally till puberty hits and then the curve begins to diverg.

You see now in terms of grip strength we have less than 6 to 9% of the women women even coming close to a mans average and 2% going above average

Now you may ask me how does grip strength matter.
Well grip strength is everything, it is the some total of your upper body strength, all the muscles present in the upper body combine together to provide grip strength.

Grip strength is invloved in everything relevant to military.
Grip strength will determine if u can hold the gun as the same accuracy as the man when firing.
Grip strength will determine how efficiently you can climb a 10 m rope.
Grip strength matters when you lift something or grab on to something when your pulling or pushing.
Grip strength will matter in your martial arts training, this is the reason why most women get beat by men in wrestling kind of sport.

So you have maybe 1 or 2 female for every 98 men qualifying for the physical standard.
So this is how it goes we will have to arrange for different quarters different washroom facilities and other stuff.
This all will cost us a lot of money which we are already short off.

And that's not the only thing women go through periods which cut down on their performance even more.
And let's be real there is no guarantee of what will happen when male and female are put together in a team.

Now we can either just hire more males for the job which we have plenty or maybe hire more females just for the sake of filling progressivnes quota knowing well about all the drawbacks.

Granted there are fields like Air force where inclusion of women has little to no affect upon the performance. Women helicopter pilots have been operating for decades in our air force and now are doing so in the fighter jet department.
Women in the sniper department are renowned during the world war and even now.

I'm in no way have any patriarchical view against female all I'm asking for is efficiency in the armed forces.

Mam i respect and admire you and I'm all open on debate if u want to
