Yeah thanks again mate. I just went and Googled the term "PITOT" and got this as the Definition:
A pitot tube, also known as pitot probe, is a flow measurement device used to measure fluid flow velocity, basically to measure Airspeed!

This looks a lot like Rafale's son in design. Just look at the design philosophy.
Yeah! It's so hard to make out the Difference between the Two Designs. TEDBF is an Almost exact copy of The Rafale Aircraft! The design! Just like Rafale!

Wouldn't say exact copy... but it is like taking a Rafale and trying to transition into a 5th generation model and then suddenly changing their mind and leaving it midway. :lawl:

Which makes me wonder - what's even the point of this program?

Without any critical design difference like internal weapon bays, it doesn't represent any capability addition compared to existing aircraft like Rafale-M which are available for export today with no strings attached.

What's the point of developing a brand new aircraft just for 50-odd airframes? Either IAF has to choose this over MWF/Tejas Mk-2 as future MMRCA or we have to be overflowing with cash & talent pool...the latter is definitely not the case and former most likely will not be.

Who else operates a STOBAR carrier other than China, Russia and us? Until they show a modified CATOBAR design we have no reason to believe it exists just because they’ve said it’s possible on a brochure.
For ORCA no one will buy if IAF itself does not operate it.

Doesn't necessarily have to be Naval variant,
With an AF version, we have a light Single Engine category, Medium Weight single engine category, and a twin Engine on the table, that too along the likes of Typhoon and Rafale

Payload. 5th generation jets can't carry sufficient payloads that would be required for strike operations due to internal weaponization. Navy is also confident that true stealth jets would remain out of our region (even when considering J-21 and J-35) for a few more decades as the mainstay.

While I am all for a domestic program, it would be more sensible to ask the Navy to get 50 Rafale-Ms with more internal sourcing at this point OR force them to opt for an AMCA-Navy.

That's why F-35 has a beast mode which utilizes outer weapon stations (like other 5G birds)
It doesn't have to solely rely on internal bays
