Tatra is tried and tested .Tata heavy trucks are not..
Tata will never be a Tatra if it doesn't get it's feet off the ground first. That's why foreign defense companies offer their "top notch" equipment to our military, because they want to derail our indigenous products which will eventually be competitive with their own products and it will start eating up their customers and take their market share away.

India needs to go full force indigenously and do whatever it takes to help the private companies out, or we will always be at the mercy of inferior foreign products that have strings attached.

Tatra is too powerful and wheel base to big enough to go on desert, Tata new truck is impressive but not equivalent to Tatra..
I guess Engine rating of both TATA 2038 and TARTA 6x6 is almost same only thing that differs is suspension system. TATRA employs swinging half axles design for better grip while TATA design relies on combination of special springs and Leaf. A simple look says, TATRA is unbeatable that to some extent is true. But with that TATRA design comes with special problem, during heavy breakdown in field the Truck is almost unrepairable and may be this is the reason why worlds leading military truck manufacturers like Mercedes-Benz, MAN, Renault, KAMAZ, URAL etc build their all wheel drive trucks on civilian ladder chassis rigid axle design.

Besides it is other thing that TATA LPTA 2038 has already undergone testing/trials at NCAT (VRDE). And may be after some recommendations/modifications this truck sees military duty.

thanks for the pic, Good time for TATA to make bullet proof Truck for military.
SAYA, TATA LPTA 2038 (whose SPYDER carrier variant is in pic) already has an all armored troop carrier variant. Check this PDF refer pg-5. Besides TATA also has several armored/bullet proof troop carriers for CI Ops namely LPA 713, LP 1515TC/40 etc.

Another Indian 6x6 for grab. Hope Military shows some sense and start supporting desi. I have no reason to think why supplier of excellent and reliable Stallion 6x6 won't be able to meet tactical requirements in 10 ton class?

Rhino

The Rhino family of heavy duty trucks are designed for extreme off-road operations and provide high mobility logistical transport option for armed forces. The Rhino's longer wheelbase and 6x6 all-wheel drive configuration provides global armed forces with a reliable and effective logistical transport option in the heavy duty defence vehicle category. The Rhino is built for military payloads ranging from XX tonne to XX tonne. The Rhino provides a cost-effective option with its reliability for off-road missions and regular operations with its all-wheel drive and option of armoured and non-armoured cab.

Rhino Applications

Troop Carrier 6x6
Field Artillery Tractor 6x6
