Yet another no-to-HAL decision. Let them just focus on Tejas and deliver them on time. And get Tejas to higher standards. HAL Dhruv’s are at serious risk from the TATA-Sikorsky venture - it won’t take that long for them to make a Dhruv equivalent. PSUs are facing the heat and competition is what will wake these people up. Good move by the government.
Get Tejas to higher standards, what do you mean by that?
Just see the image below, the finish on the aircraft is as good as any Western fighter jet.

also airbus not interested in assembling their civilian big crafts in india.
They need to be forced to start assembling, just doing PR for make in India is not enough. Before pandemic at least, we were buying ~100 narrow every year - that is something like 20X larger than this C-295 in value. As per projections we will be the 3rd largest civil aircraft market in a few years (behind China and USA). They started an assembly line in China around 15 years ago, no reason they can't do it India also. This Modi-Macaroni best fraands for everrr needs to be converted to real gains on the ground for us.

Special missions is what this aircraft will really excel in, I'm not so optimistic that will be able to take up the role of the main cargo carrying aircraft for IAF, it is simply too small. We'll have to start looking at a 20-40t category go that, maybe go for additional c-130s in the interim.

Wonder what incentive TATA-Sikrosky will have to make an Indian-designed engine for their helicopters. Probably none. Meanwhile, we might see HAL IMRH with maybe an HAL engine being rejected because hating HAL and DPSUs in general is in vogue nowadays. Just don't come crying when these profit-hungry business houses simply rebrand foreign wares as Indian and don't show the same drive to have a completely indigenous product that DPSUs have.

Airbus is not a French company. It's a collaboration of many countries. You can not force Airbus to do shit for you. If they thought manufacturing in India was anyway cheaper or more reliable they would have already done so. If you haven't paid attention, Airbus has made no other aircraft at Taijin since the A320. EU would love to keep most of those jobs in-house for their own people.

I read the turbo prop engines manufactured by Pratt Whitney. Can anyone shed light on what components that will be manufactured in India and if engine will be produced here.

Dream on. You'll see the production of an A320 much before you ever see the production of A400M in India. And you might never see the production of an A320 in India. India is just not there yet as far as I have read when it comes to manufacturing.
It's curious. For the number of narrow bodies that India is to procure over the next 30 years (1000s) you'd think they would set up in India but these things are very very political. The only Airbus (airliner) factories outside of Europe are N.America and China.

I think in the next 5 years something will happen for India on this front, India is ready for it.

Where do you get this stuff from? Neither Airbus has made the offer nor GoI has refused it.

Such things are inevitable and will happen, India has the fastest growing aviation market in the world, I'd be shocked if by 2030 Airbus didn't have some sort of narrow body production site in India

Talks were ongoing for this about 4 years ago but Covid has scuppered plenty of things- Airbus now has a difficulty selling off current inventory. Wait another 2-3 years for orders to start flowing in again before these things are looked at again seriously.

Also these matters are highly political as I said before, France wants to get closer to India- Rafale and C295 have created enormous industrial ties between the two which are only deepening; Netra Mk.2,MMMA and AWACS (I) are all to be on Airbus platforms. Won't be surprised to see the MRTT leased by IAF in the next 2 years either.

Airbus is getting very comfortable in India, just wait.

Guys should we develop a dedicated EW(Electronic WarFare) version of the C-295? Like how Pakistan Airforce has a dedicated EW(Electronic WarFare) plane that is called the DA-20 which is basically a passenger Aircraft which has EW suites installed in it. Like that can we do something like that with C-295? I Feel like Indian Airforce needs a Dedicated EW Aircraft as well.

Ya'll Nibbiars 48 months within the signing of the order. There are rumors of additional aircraft for the various roles and services.
Coast guard and Indian Navy could buy this plane. It looks pretty good for such roles. Indian Navy could potentially use it as a ASW(Anti Submarine Warfare) platform or Maritime Patrol Aircraft. The Indian coast guard could buy it as a Maritime Patrol Aircraft. This Aircraft has so much Potential to it as a multi Platform.

They had also tied up with Elta of Israel and produced an electronic beast AEW platform

DRDO can make our own awacs and probably it'll look something like this, if at all it happens
We too Should do the same. We too should try and Develop an EW(Electronic Warfare) of this. We could install our own Indigenous EW suites and systems in it with the Necessary modifications and voila! There you have it! An electronic Warfare C-295 Aircraft with you!

This platform can become an:
1)AWACS.
2)Anti Submarine Warfare platform.
3)Electronic WarFare plane.
4)Maritime Patrol Aircraft.
and so much more. I am so happy that we bought it, we did the Best Thing by buying this plane. Our other armed branches like Navy , coast guard should consider this Aircraft.
