Ideally i would have said that we should pound Pakistan on LOC to such a great extent that they are forced to deploy reserves in LOC while we continue to supply ANA.

Now looking at the performance of ANA and the fact that we had to sign a ceasefire with Pakistan as most of our army is tied in LAC against china and the fact that US was pressuring us the only viable option is to fortify our defenses and wait for them.

Supplying ANA is useless as most of the equipment will go in the hands of taliban anyways.

There has been talks within the American intelligence circle since a decade back, for them to refocus their defense asset towards Asia (China) and ignore Middle East/Central Asia.

That seems to be the path forward for the Americans.
