India already has back channel talks with ISI.. and entire Afghan Taliban leadership is held hostage in Pakistan.. India need not be so quick to hop onto the "Taliban is an independent actor" charade..
Better, India try to build some rapport with regional Taliban commanders in Afghanistan

Afghanistan demanded IAF support, we can’t send boots on ground or wings on air but certainly can train their eagles to fly, Afghan Airforce currently needs more pilots, all of them are trained in USA by Americans, we should secretly train thir pilots as it won’t take much time and resources as they need only basic flying and close air support training.

Russia cannot wipe out Taliban, as Russia cannot wipe out Pakistan in a conventional war..
Russia has limited power projection capabilities beyond its borders.. Invading Pakistan via land will be a logistical nightmare for Russia

The Taliban too do not have Armour, artillery and rocket artillery.. The presence of Pakistani military consultants does not justify the lack of fight shown by Afghan Army.
