Its something we should have done in 71 or even in 99. Indhira had the plan to go deeper into pok in 71. She didnt coz of US pressure. Its really pathetic we are still folding to the same pressure.
No, she didn’t.

There is a thread on White House communications during Nixon presidency during 1971 war. you can go thru all the documents when you have time.

muricans suspected Indira wanted to expand the theatre to PoK, because they were worried about their lapdog.
right from the beginning Indian side both officially and unofficially keeps giving assurances that our theatre is limited to East Pakistan

Taliban wants to act as a 'unifying force', uniting the country as a cohesive political/geographical entity but if Iran and India want, peace can never be there. It is much easier to put one faction against the other.
This unity is on line as time have come to split the spoils of war .... master is there in kabul trying to avoid this dog fight....Hoping master himself is saved from onslaught of mad dogs...

I was maintaining this from start that, the Government Formation is just delayed to facilitiate the integration of Panjshir.

Taliban wants an inclusive Government so without Panjshir they wouldnt be inclusive and complete. Panjshir has to fall for this to happen and its fallen.

But over-centralisation is the kiss of death for governments in Afghanistan. It did for Ghani’s government and it’ll do for the Taliban as well.

Iran's major concern in Afghanistan is the water from river Helmand, it is a critical, vital national interest. Other major concerns include protection of the Shia Hazara tribe and a common deal in the drugs trade.

If Iran sees its interests are not met, than it will voice concerns just like it is doing now.

unpopular opinion -

Afganistan has largest reserve of lithium .. Its geography full of other minerals like buxite , manganege , iron ore etc ... So future of taliban is bright .. china pakistan have their vision of a industrialized S.E Afganistan with pak and chinese companies .. So money not going to be a problem .. Afganistan ll get its aids ..
Regarding India we shd stop viewing the world with the western lenses .. They came and fled to their side of the globe to publish more reports on human rights issues in India , problem of cashmir , and fund more ngos , missionaries to stop industrialization of india ..

That is why Talibs opened the water flow to Iran even before they captured Kabul.
