Few events in last 1-2 days and statement from US diplomats have left me with a change opiinion. Here is what have happened really!!!!!!!!!!

1. US had a deal with taliban
2. ghani was be toppled
3. Apprently, Ghani refused to step down and wanted to be a martyr.
4. To taliban started their march to kabul and Ghani knowing all, stopped ANA from fighting any war.
5. IMO, it is part of deal that taliban will portray their moderate face to bring in legitimacy into modern world.
6. Some where Saudi's are not in line with this Plan and explains why ghani defected to UAE via via via. Unless he have safety of himself & family, he will not travel.
7. Considering Ghani was US puppet, ideally he shud have fled to US but talibs might have forced US hand to not give him asylm.
8. Suddenly we are seeing lots of statements from US sides , Liberandu's praising taliban and their new found moderate face.
9. Porkis helped US in signing this deal IMO , hence US silence on pokrland so far...
10. Porkis IMO have double crossed the US and Chinks just taking out the benefit of whole fiasco. Chinkas are already negotiating with talib for opening copper mines

Prediction - We will see a moderate taliban. Tons of Opinion maker will glorify them for their changed behavior and they will be praised....

I'm not going to go fully into this and derail the thread, but what @Jimih said is absolutely correct. Israel has led the US multiple times into wars for their personal interests, and Israel is the one who has always been the prime country in subverting and destroying societies from within.

In fairness, allying with the Americans on this issue was the right way to go national interests wise. Russians and the Chinese always had opposing interests (didn't want American bases there, or Americans blocking their access to the Indian ocean/gulf, didn't want America so close to Iran etc.), and so they would rather have Talibs in power because they can be controlled via Pork-slaves.

The problem is mainly buying into American idealism. There should have been a way to communicate to the Americans that Pak is not your ally there and to stop trying to make friends or give them money and hugs. India didn't do that.

We missed the bus. The experience would have been priceless and the exposure to such high net centric environment would have given us edge against China. Ironically, the fall of ANA can also be attributed to same inter-connectivity which Americans snapped abruptly.

Now when the fears on Russia, China and Pakistani nexus are published here by certain members. They should also speak about their stand on that military alliance which we could have easily pulled out and stalled or totally averted this fall.

Ideologies are for free, we could have acted into that so called American idealism if our interest in the region had demanded us to become the main player. I am not cribbing and at total peace with the fact that our government had different take on it.

Therefore both for me who hoped for a military intervention and others fearing Afghanistan gone to the dogs is a futile exercise. Both Russia and China have many scores to settle with USA and they will make sure to rub Afghanistan on her. We must stay fluid and keep hedging our bets.
