Rather than spending huge amount on maintaining US forces in Afghanistan, they should have armed, trained and equipped Afghan forces. US mismanaged the event. They could have spent the money in better way which would have produced far better result.

What Afghan Government lack is a good Airforce most their fighters are Propeller driven Counter-Insurgency aircraft even these are less in number. US should have spend more money on Afghan Air Force and should have been equipped them with Proper Jet fighters that can carry heavier payloads and do precision strikes, more troop transport helicopters and more Turcanos for local counter-insurgency operations. Afghan AF would benefit hugely from Armed Drones like Turkish TBs. the Taliban terrorists don’t really have anything counter these.
