I would certainly use the term less Barbaric because of few things which the Americans did in Afghanistan

1) Use of fire power: Americans could have rained MOAB Bombs and other cluster bombs and decimated half of Afghanistan populations but they chose not to do? at least because of Human Rights people at home.

2) Americans tried to keep women and Children out of harms way in Afghanistan out of harms way. For example take OBL Raid, any other special forces would have killed, Osama's wives and children in a similar raid. But US Navy seal team did not kill Osama's young children, One of Osama's wife was shot in the leg because of her threatening move. Killing of Osama's son khalid is justified because he fired at US Navy seal.s

3) Russians Pillaged everything in Afghanistan, I feel that is correct, That is how a war should be fought against these terrorists, But Americans did not destroy villages or homes.


4) US Soldiers feared ROE very much.

yeah basically. If the US really wanted to win the war at any cost, they could have genocided the Pashtun population on both sides of the Durand Line and be done with it in like 2 years. Instead, they idealistically tried to win hearts and minds under Bush and Obama. Trump and Biden at least were committed to getting out (though Biden only doing so to seize upon public sentiment and take credit for something Trump started).

In the long term we will have to ally with USA. Those who befriend them get rich and also USA doesn't say much when their allies do genocide. Americans had enough chances to Punish Pakistan from 31-12-2014 to 15-08-2021, Moment US Troops Surge ended in 2013, supply lines from Pakistan were no longer required, equipment and logistics, But still Americans chose not to punish Pakistan? The million dollar question is why? Trump at least got Pakistan into FATF but other presidents chose other wise.
