Swati Goel Sharma (@swati_gs) Tweeted:
As per Pew Survey, 99 percent Muslims in Afghanistan in favour of making Islamic (Sharia) law as official law of the country https://t.co/5LVurOTcT6
Even more fun results of the survey: 40% feel Suicide bombing is an acceptable way to defend Islam, 80% want death for apostasy...

I think the image created by western media outlets that AF wants western style liberalism is a carefully curated one to justify their presence, maybe at best these are the wants of a certain elite being painted as something everyone wants.

Similarly if you scan western media about India you will have "experts" painting a very different picture of mass oppression genocide and so on, while reality is again totally different.

Meanwhile China is poking the U.S about the mess up

I read that too
Can't seem to find it now
Hopefully they are equipped with riot gear apart from Lethal weapons in case shit hits the fan
Also, they are kitted out in a decent manner, very much unlike the ITBP in the chini border, from the only few pics available, they have decent helmets, JPC plate carriers and are armed with AKs

Just like Syria, when Bear tamed the worst ever creation of Amreekunts - the IS... Russkies should have supported the North/NW resistance.
Wonder how to they fell first!
Back in 1996, when Taliban had steamrolled into all of Afghanistan except for the north. The so-called "Northern Alliance" supported by India, Iran and Russia. An Indian diplomat, named S. Raghuvaran was central to the formation of the alliance of Russia and Iran with India. Thus the N. A. strengthened by the trio of Russia, India and Iran not only repulsed repeated Taliban attacks and inflicting massive casualties, but also forced them to shun the idea of taking over the northern parts for the time being. When ABV, became the PM for a mere 13 days, there was a delegation that had come from Pakistan and they were interested in meeting Raghuvaran, the man who frustrated Taliban/PA plans in north.

Was wondering something has changed on CNN.

Naughty naughty, they removed the breaking news scroll at the bottom of screen to control the narrative. Meaning if their regular viewers doesn’t watch CNN while Afghanistan news is coming, they would probably not know what’s happening in Afghanistan.

Now

That's wrong. Both people and land got converted. Bharat influence was from Afgan to Indonesia, and today is just modern India. Similarly, many Muslims and other minorities forefathers were converted.

We fought and failed. It's now just making sure that this land of India doesn't get lost as well.

What can India offer to Russia that offsets CCP's hold on Putin's balls?

Did Russia offer any early intelligence on CCP thuggery at LAC? No, in fact, if reports are true, they even downplayed & said that it is a routine affair.

India even spoke "truth to power" & went ahead with S400 despite massive US pressure.

Due to sheer economic size CCP has more influence. No other way about this & they cashed this.
If we can give trade of equal size and also give them strategic depth besides funding their military campaigns wherever the bear wants to romp.

Russians will pay in the long run though. Chinaman seldom stays in a losing deal for long.

Again shoot bullets in the leg ?

Buying weapons from the west and especially from US makes you vulnerable and not strengthens your position.
One of the key reasons why Afghan forces were decimated was because of the US refusal to allow maintenance contractors which resulted in low availability of many Afghan weapons platform.
Imagine India in war with an adversary and the US refuses to give us the spare parts, what will you do in this situation apart from closing your eyes and praying to the lord ?

An import dependent military is never a strong military, look at US allies like Saudi Arabia as an example.
Sorry didn't made my self clear ..I am all in for homegrown weapons (if we can) and completely echo your sentiments but for now our priority should be getting battle ready in short notice.
36 more Rafales and 36 F18 for Navy and thats it..then pour funds to make our own weapons ..

Sure it could have been a far better end for Hindus nevertheless the point being made is about their total colossal faliure to uproot Hinduism and reawakening of Sanatana Dharma that followed.

Biden seems to have made the Afghanistan withdrawal his central point. He had a long history of wanting to leave Afghanistan and when he was VP and either the Defense Secretary or a top General said something about protecting women’s rights etc, Biden exploded saying that he wasn’t going to be sending his boy (he was a rare leader whose sons were serving in the military when he was in office) into harms way for some stupid women’s rights.

Biden seems to not like Afghanistan very much viewing it as a corrupt hellhole and an untrustworthy ally and it’s likely that strong conviction that made Biden go down this route.

There doesn’t seem to be any regrets in the Biden administration about the withdrawal, maybe the optics aren’t great but the collapse of the Afghanistan government in such quick time only seems to have reinforced the Biden’s teams voewpoint that it was good to have got out. After all, if it was going to collapse like this after 20 years of American assistance, it wouldn’t have made much difference if the Americans stayed a little while longer. At least that seems to be their thinking.
