China and Pakistan's reaction was on expected lines. What caught MEA and the govt by surprise was the Russian betrayal.

Gyaan aur philosophy jhadne se kuch nahi hoga. Instead of acting all high and mighty he must answer what exactly led to such a downfall in our ties that Russia simply rejected our very presence in all the meets.

Taking pride in a blunder in typical babu sense. Some things never change.

Now that US has finally left Afghanistan just how many regional players are still aligned with us and actively working with us?

What should have been a Indian outreach into CA and Russia was rather turned into a piggyback ride on the back of US based on the naive belief that US would not leave afghanistan.
What can India offer to Russia that offsets CCP's hold on Putin's balls?

Did Russia offer any early intelligence on CCP thuggery at LAC? No, in fact, if reports are true, they even downplayed & said that it is a routine affair.

India even spoke "truth to power" & went ahead with S400 despite massive US pressure.

Due to sheer economic size CCP has more influence. No other way about this & they cashed this.

The weirdest thing in all of this is the timing of the American withdrawal. As many experts have pointed out, fighting in Afghanistan is seasonal with the Taliban going back to their safe zones in Pakistan during winter. That would have been the best time for any American withdrawal because it would have given the government forces some time to muster if they chose to. Withdrawing in peak fighting season like they have now done is inexplicable.

Contrary to what many think, the US administration assumed a Taliban takeover, regardless of Biden’s weird statements. Blinken had been telling journalists for months that he believed a Taliban takeover was very likely, i.e inevitable. The fact that they still managed to turn this into a complete disaster is a terrible indictment of this administration.

These are just Optics as far as US is concerned, even though a lot of tragedy in involved.

Democrats take dangerous routes in furthering the US agenda. Some times the moves look like US has failed.
