The fact that US is sending more troops into an obvious dangerous chokepoint makes it clear, that Taliban will not mount an attack on the airport and will leave US soldiers alone.
Also, all those Taliban in Kabul will not be averse to evacuation.. They all need housing .. and now the country bumpkins get to occupy all those abandoned A class houses..
