Wont be surprised if they helped out Taliban, working with Pakis to even things out with the U.S. Now it is time to watch the fun, just like how the U.S did when USSR withdrew.
Russia also kept India out of the meetings with Talibs, perhaps at Paki/China's request.
Later they included us

That's quite the myopic view if you ask me.

In fact most of the discussion on this forum too has been centered around this eventuality.

Very little time and discussion has been devoted to the loss of influence in CA the end of 2 front situation for Pakistan but most importantly the lack of safe havens for Baloch insurgency.

NDS was instrumental in creating supply lines and safe havens for the Baloch insurgency. Their collapse will lead a void which will be exploited by the Chinese to the fullest extent.

Then there is also the issue of influence barring the Afghan govt we had no influence in CA at all most of the countries are already under the Russians or the Chinese.

Reopening of the drug trade will once again be used to revive the insurgency in Khalistan and other fronts. With Afghanistan done Pakistan will be able to put it's entire focus on Kashmir.

I see a gradual increase in NE and Kashmiri insurgencies coupled with heightened terror incidents in deep south and Punjab.

A for us we will respond there is no doubt about it but heightened insurgency and terror activities is never good for a growing nation never.

We will have to wait and watch just how far the govt will go in dealing with pakistan once all of this is done.

The drone intrusions and attacks were a test of sorts. How far will our govt against pakistan when the chinese are at our borders too.
It falls on us to guard our borders with Pakistan. We have never had a robust response to Pakistan's meddling. You hurt pakis with a disproportionate response you control rest of the problems.

India should have a declared policy that any attempt to infiltrate from the Pakistani side will be met with conventional response on paki soil.

Regards to China at the doors, well time has come for India to join a side. This non alignment wont help us. Get into a military alliance that will mean aliies being drawn in case China opens a front. We did it successfully earlier too.

Punjab insurgency was dead even when Taliban was in power in Kabul. The punjabis are simply not interested and except a very miniscule minority no one talks about it in India.
