Thats one way to look at things. However Taliban doesn't follow any central command. Whatever influence ISI has with taliban is not that significant otherwise TTP wouldn't be bombing sh!t out of them.

The weakest link here are Afghan people themselves. Without their support Talibs can't takeover country so fast. Talibs literally captured entire provinces without a shot fired, people welcomed them with open arms.

Taliban couldn’t have done this level of planning sitting in the mountains, this happened because of safe haven provided by ISI in Pakistan.

- ISI allowed them safe space for conducting shuras,
- ISI gave them safe haven medical facilities to both taliban leaders and fighters,
- ISI gave Taliban diplomatic cover tempering the muricans during negotiations,
- ISI coordinated with Russians, Iranians & Chinese on behalf of Taliban
- ISI ensured taliban cash flow via narcotics trade
- ISI probably gave them military intel as well

The list is probably even longer, they did everything to meet their strategic objectives of strategic depth.

This whole TTP thing is being used and amplified by the pakistanis to amplify the narrative that they are victims too.

They went from hiding casulties to revealing them everytime.

Generals saying to withdraw is understandable, but the soldiers merely agreeing to it.

There have been many cases in IA where young officers were ordered to fall back by senior commander, but they refused and continued to fight. Some examples maj Shaitan Singh and 2nd Lt Arun Khetrapal.

In some time Taliban will be at the UN, as part of the deal for letting U.S escape, and maybe even sitting in the UN Human rights Council, lecturing India on Womens Rights..and you can be sure NDTV will run to them for interviews on how to fix the situation

I think the most important lesson Amreekis learnt after Saigon and Kabul is that they need to first move their embassies close to airport like right across the gate close. Would help them in their future endeavours.
