In reality it maybe in the best interest of SCO to take the Taliban's side against NATO, the real reason for NATO to be in afghanistan may not be as they say to drive Taliban out or catch Osama Bin Laden. Nobody is looking for Osama anymore and now there is a good Taliban the real reason maybe to get a foothold against SCO members like China,Russia and guest Iran.

Yep. That is exactly why USA is not willing to leave Afghanistan 'anytime soon'. Both China and Russia are 'concerned' but don't want to take a stand just yet. At the most they can support the taliban covertly like the united states did during the soviet war in support of the communist government of afghanistan against the mujahideens. However, that would openly define pakistan as a double agent and it will lose its toys from its daddy. So, nobody is going to do anything because they cannot.

The primary purpose of the SCO as stated in the charter is to destroy fundamentalist elements just like the Taliban. If we had any interest in helping them, we wouldn't be letting the US use our rail and airways duty free to kick their a$$.

Are you guys missing the point? The Taliban are delusional and missing the fact that the Chinese and the Americans are in cahoots with each other in Afghanistan!! American soldiers protect Chinese business interests!

Or, Russia is happy that US is cleaning up after itself with no strings attached and is getting a kick out of the mujahideen's losses today.

(not that I'm saying they dont deserve it in the first place)

Vladimir that was the true intention to defeat the Taliban but now reports are coming out this war is not winnable and the mission itself has become unclear with talk of a good and bad taliban as a face saving gimmick for defeat of the NATO alliance by one of the most poorest third world nations in the world.

So this 8 year war in Afghanistan was to have Chinese FDI in Afghanistan, that is why we are no longer looking for Osama and Taliban is slowly becoming good Taliban very convincing.

No, the war in Afghanistan was to put a legitimate government (friendly to the Americans) in power and to stabilize the country. Now, the Americans realize that they need help and that's why they're welcoming the Chinese.

FDI is not considered stealing. Buying Copper and Natural gas at dirt cheap prices is.

IN Afghanistan’s Logar Province, just south of Kabul, the geopolitical future of Asia is becoming apparent: American troops are providing security for a Chinese state-owned company to exploit the Aynak copper reserves, which are worth tens of billions of dollars. While some of America’s NATO allies want to do as little as possible in the effort to stabilize Afghanistan, China has its eyes on some of world’s last untapped deposits of copper, iron, gold, uranium and precious gems, and is willing to take big risks in one of the most violent countries to secure them.

Oh god, it's good business to buy at a low price. And you're going to hold it against them!? LOL

At least the some of the money is going to the Afghan government, and that's more than most countries can offer.
