The 7.62×39 AK has a bit of a kick to it. It's not uncomfortable to shoot by any means, however it's tough to get the same control over it as you would an AR15 or similar 5.56mm chambered rifle. The cartridge can give you fits when trying to fire quick aimed shots at targets.
Muzzle brakes help to tame the recoil of rifles and to use propellant gases to bring the barrel rise and rearward recoil forces under control.
