The Assam Rifles, the country's oldest para-military force, currently guards the porous India-Myanmar border.

The person, identified as Qin Min Xiv Xiang (55), hails from Fuzian province of China and was nabbed a few days ago. Various Chinese, Vietnamese and Myanmarese documents, foreign currencies, a pen drive and a compass were found in his possession.

Sources said there were inputs on the movement of a suspected Chinese intelligence operative agent attempting to infiltrate into India from Myanmar through a track near T Minao village. Immediately, a team from the Assam Rifles base area was mobilized leading to nabbing of the Chinese national, they added.

Efforts to contact Assam Rifles officials stationed at Moreh drew a blank for the day. Till the time of filing this report, he is yet to be handed over to Moreh Police.
