MKI's mission computer is Indian, we don't need Russian help regarding this. EW suite is from IAI and now we plan to use DRDO SPJ so EW Suite is not a problem.
We plan to replace Radar with Uttam and as mission computer is Indian this should not be an issue.
Anything changing aerodynamics of the aircraft; Russians can complain that they won't be responsible for flight worthiness and we may have to do the entire flight certification locally.

When MKM attached MAW-300 then what did Russia do?
CFTs are perhaps biggest humpy bumpy modifications. Even Norway F-35 have parachute hump.
So i think IAF/HAL are worrying too much about flight certification & worthiness.
MKI can go for pylon based MAWS or like F-15-EX.

Well we have been slow due to past corrupted monarch governments. We are picking up pace recently only. But good thing is that speed bumps will pass.

Super-Sukhoi may not be enough. DIRCM is important against IR missiles & effective broadband jamming with decoy perhaps required against RF missiles. Sukhoi's big RCS is its own biggest threat today. It might be too late to change the airframe's material from metal alloys to Carbon/Graphite/Fiberglass based epoxy.

Further, it is revealed/assumed that Su-35 avionics S/w cannot tell if gun ammo is loaded or not?????? Hence the pilot accidentally shot his fellow. Do u believe it?
Alert status jets don't participate in training excercises, flypasts, etc & vice-versa also true in most cases depending upon geography, threat level, etc.
Secondly, in simulated gun-fights the CCIP reticle staying for just a second over target is counted as gunshot, which is also recorded by HUD-camera & avionics which is compiled into 1 battlespace sim from all jets & discussed after the excercie for improvements. Dummy/inert bombs & missiles are also available for excercises.
Also, as jets are becoming more S/w oriented, H/w functions are being transformedinto S/w ones. They need not just a master-arm safety switch but either authorization codes or a simulation mode entered from HUD panel or MFD when it is sure that a live weapon will be fired that too in te area of conflict.
There are safety mechanisms, procedures in every proffession & industry.

upgrade is in progess bro irst is made by drdo and is in final stage, digital rwr are deployed,maws are deployed in pod system , aspj was seen on trails in ladakh, cockpit and computers being developed for mk2 will go into mki , radar is in fabrication stage and will have electronic attack capability as confirmed by hvt sir,python er is an AWESOME piece that will go once we fit in uttam

No, that will need redesign of air-frame and get air-worthiness re-certification.

I haven't come across any such obligation in contract but even if their are such clauses once you buy an aircraft no seller can stop your from making changes as you won that platform/hardware.
Just take example of our current upgrade package, we are not taking approval from Russians.
