Oh please. No weapon is invincinble no matter how advanced given the right tactic, mistake of opponent and chance. That's why even F117 was shot down. So it's perfectfly natural for F-16 to get shot down. In fact, in Red Flag F-5s, A-4s routinely shot down F-16s, F-15 and F-18s.

What we do not have here is verifiable evidence. But rest assured that if it did happen then the evidence will eventuslky come out in the future.

Oh please, U.S. and Pakistan will never allow verification. We have verifiable proof on our sides.

I said that just to show you that F-16s didn't fire AAMRAMs to put MKI in defensive position which you were claiming.

MkI were doing proactive patrolling and were not allowed to fire due to rules of combat. Have we engaged first we would have branded as sggressor by these people only

That's what I also mean. SU-30 MKIs were in defensive mode from start. They didn't become defensive after AAMRAM firing which the other guy was claiming.

Ok, so whatever happened to the Super Sukhoi upgrade?

It will we Indian + Russian equipment .
Don't expect a super sukhoi package in one shot bang. A lot of things are already being developed in parallel .

Let's see the tech in development in india which will be ported to su30 / being developed for su30 directly ==

Indegenios irst and maws. All digital rwr.
New improved mission computer with new wide displays could also have limited sensor fusion ( ported from lca mk1a).

Indian high band jammer pods.

Astra and Astra mk2 weapons in long run sfdr missile. Ngarm already integrated so are all Indian munitions lgb , pgm etc.
Bramhos Ng will be integrated.

Indian ew suite ( based on dare suit for mig29 and lca mk1a and mwf) .

Software radio being developed in India interim could be Israeli imported.

Lot of these things in different stages of development.

From Russian side new radar ( they are offering irbis E we probably want su57 radar . ) Or scaled up Uttam later.

New engine al41 to adjust all the weight again over development. More power for jammers and ew suite. More life and less maintenance.

Russian may offer su57 Himalaya ew suit with radar.

New Russian weaponry rvv -bd/sd etc. Some of them are already tested / imported.

Maybe some lru replacement with lighter lru for more internal space for electronic Avionics.

Some active stealth measure like su35 and su57 to reduce RCS signature .

Strengthened airframe to carry bramhos air for more airframes.

Russians offered what they are doing for their SM3 package. IAF is unhappy with it as they want an AESA radar and digital self protection suite neither of which Russians currently have. HAL has yet to commence any search for alternative sources for these components.

I further write what would happen in case of US Military inaction. There is a train of thought in the US that the US need not strike Iran, because Iran has not struck any US military base, or a ship.
Nations provide bases to a super power or a major power, with a tacit agreement that the major power would defend it in the time of crisis. The superpower in turn would project power both externally, and internally by shaping the host country's foreign policies to suit the superpower's interests. Trump wants all the good things that come with empire viz. Power projection, spread and maintain American influence, and snatch multi billion dollar arms deals from Saudis and emiratis. But, all the above is underwritten by a tacit US security guarantee. Putin is already pitching for Russian arms. But, what he was also implicitly pitching in the presence of Rouhani was that he would protect Saudi Arabia by talking to Iran.
What if US does not respond, and Iran continues to escalate against Saudi Arabia, and Trump says that no US bases were targeted, but the countries which host the bases burn?
What if, Iran then made the offer , that they would cease attacking Saudi Arabia and UAE, only if the US is kicked out of Saudi Arabia and UAE ? Would the US and Trump call that winning?

Intervention is rarely the best option. They meddled in Afghanistan and created Al Qaeda. They invaded Iraq and created Daesh. Sarkozy overthrew Ghaddafi and now French troops are operating all over the Sahel cleaning up that mess. Dictators are the only thing that works to contain radical Islam. I hope the US and French leaders have learned that by now.

I am not talking about intervention in Iran by means of invasion. Invasion and trying to stabilize later never works well, as can be seen in Afghanistan and Iraq. But, only that if the US wants to maintain influence in the middle east, then, there should be a proportionate response to the Aramco attack...

Saudi Royal family does not keep a strong military and for good reason. The gave US the gift of petro-dollar just for this very day.

US is in a fix right now since Trump cant attack due to the elections and Iran will keep raising stakes if met with no response. US should have gotten a new attack dog in the region before disposing off the pakis (they would have been perfect for countering Iran right now). Too bad Obama was an Idiot.

Strikes in Syria and Libya were non-UN mandated. Russia had vetoed every time. The Americans and the French went in regardless.
Saudis wont let this lame excuse fly. America either needs to convince the Saudis to wait till after US election or they will start calling Russia "Daddy" in no time.

US should have gotten a new attack dog in the region before disposing off the pakis (they would have been perfect for countering Iran right now). Too bad Obama was an Idiot.

US never disposed off Pakistan.. But, Pakistan is pretty impotent when it comes to cause any real harm to Iran. They border the vast deserts of Sistan Balochistan, and Iran's most important population centers are too far away... Any frontal attack like the Iran Iraq war, Pakistan would not commit, as their army would find it very difficult to cross the desert. As unlike in Afghanistan, it has no real desperation to exert control in Iran.
