Su-57'S sports a 101KS-U MAWS which is part of the 101KS Atoll EO system, against IR missiles. It uses ultraviolet technology and cn operate under all weather conditions. It operates in a solar-blind UV spectral wavelength region and therefore has no natural (sun) false alarms.
It is used to provide directional information of the incoming guided missile to be able to deploy decoy after decision making, and also to maneuver. It also helps to swing 101KS-O DIRCM in action against the incoming missile.

Will India induct PAKFA/ FGFA Jets?, We need to Induct this Jet in order to stay relevant about 5th Generation Aircraft, But it doesn't mean that it should compromise its agility, ground attack capability, Interception capabilities, Induction of this Aircraft at large numbers like SU-30MKI like around 200 Plus, will force Pakistan to go into an arms race, even if it doesn't want to.

This is what super manuverablity does to you, People arguing Super manuverablity is only for air shows are boobs , super manuverablity will be very handy in avoiding BVR missiles , in the stealth era Most of the fifth generation fighter will end up in Dogfight.

ITR with a monster engine can complement the tau-max, in case of STR, basically it can swing between a very low speed fighter and a very high energy fighter. Best of both worlds

This is the only jet which enjoys both better ITR and STR.

F18 didn't stand a chance.

Russian Ministry of Defense confirms acquisition of 76 Sukhoi Su-57 Fighters

Russian President Vladimir Putin announced the purchase of 76 of the latest Su-57 fighters by the Ministry of Defense, which are to enter service with three aviation regiments by 2028.

The contract, according to Kommersant, is estimated at up to 170 billion rubles (approx. $2.4 billion), which makes it the largest in the history of Russian aviation and guarantees a full workload for the Komsomolsk-on-Amur aviation plant for at least a decade. The agreement may be signed in the presence of the President at the MAKS aerospace show.

Vladimir Putin announced the readiness of the military to purchase large quantities of new aircraft at a meeting on the development of military aviation held in Sochi. He recalled that in 2013-2018, the troops received more than a thousand new and modernized aircraft and helicopters; as a result, 65% of the Aerospace Force aircraft fleet was modernized.

The newer engines glass-fibre plastic IGVs reduce RCS, has partial serpentine ducts along with radar blockers, so pretty much I am seeing RCS reduction measures on these features, but no run of the mill internet enthusiast can determine if that is the best choice or not when comparing other stealth aircrafts.

Radar blockers won't be used in the hostile region,it's serpentine duct is optimised for air flow rather than any advantage of blocking the radar,the engine sits right back to the intake"glass fibre IGVs" russians first need to increase the MTBF of their engines before showing the dreams of Fibre vanes in the engine's,let those work restricted to west and japan,for mere 270sukhois we have produced over 930 engines...wrt engines it has poorest stealth in any form,given with that they have put no effort to make a conformal IRST like the F35 and that big gimbal is a large source of discrete radar waves reflection...

Has anyone ever considered the reasons for the su 57 being made what it is, is because that's just how they want it to be.....the lack of "superior stealth characteristics" is because superior stealth was never envisaged to be its highlight.....everyone is accusing the aircraft for not being something that it was never meant to be.....🤷🏻‍♂️

This is run of the mill internet enthusiasm as we speak because you do not have access to 1 billion dollar radio chambers but your simping more harder than f-16.net users do bringing up the F-35 on a separate aircraft thread with absolutely no knowledge at all of what radar reduction measures partial serpentine and radar blockers give on combat missions compared to another aircraft . Infrared systems instead of radars can be a flaw itself for the F-35 because radars have better detection and tracking capabilities than infrared systems along with enhanced EW capabilities.

This is not even counting the RCS reduction measures for the newer engines or a huge possibility of photonic integrated circuits being put on later for these aircrafts which also reduce infrared signatures.

It depends upon the kind of systems you use,IRST is use along with the main radar and a combine cue for the target is generated by the most advance capabilities,no such thing exists in any Russian aircraft. Let me show you this again

This is not even a partial serpentine intake,the choice of intake and engine placement is derived from the flanker family and infact the su57 is an effort to make Sukhoi27 stealthy with all the limited money and resources than any discrete new design......Radar blockers and all other bullshit only proves how messed up it was to begin with,Russia has no capability to hide engine like Lockheed did in the F22 and the f35 and mind you engines are not directly placed behind the intake in the F22 and the f35 but are in the Sukhoi 57..their is no comparison of Russian Sukhoi with f35 ,it simply doesn't stand a chance in any criteria....Moreover F35 probably doesn't have as modern IRST as Skyward G,but the thing is, it's a conformal sensor and it doesn't contribute in the RCS and still does the job....F35 radar is decades ahead of the Russian one,Russians first need to operationalize an AESA radar in their aircraft fleet before taking on Americans who are building and using airborne aesa radars from over 2 decades...

This is one of those why are such installments made on aircraft and why they would choose it. The IRST has material that has RCS reduction measures(yes they same as the fan blades) But there have QWIP IRST claim capabilities that have seen aircrafts at a way farther distance and with the infrared systems installed on the F-35 no one can decide how far or what kind of aircrafts they can detect with their infrared systems. Also with regards to the LEVCON there is more vortex and lift for the Su-57 as the trade-off with a better angle of attack and quicker stall recovery. But lets move on to why they still chose maneuverability for some features over stealth.

No one cares what your imagination brings you to, it is written in the patent that it comes with partial serpentine ducts. The reduction measures have been given in the patent but knowing the snake oil salesman of other 5th gen aircrafts you wont find an overall RCS reduction measure comparison they would do from 4th to 5th gen aircrafts. Your imagination is running wild again, radar blockers reflect the radio waves away from radar source along with RAM features for the engine, you cant determine any value reductions

I do not know if its a good idea that the F-35 does not have supersonic maneuverability, in fact I would feel sorry for an F-35 dog-fighting an Su-57. But there is one thing that cant be denied here and that is the F-35 is still undergoing block upgrades, even though F-35 production lines zerg rushed 100 aircrafts to come out. Such expenses of refitting new avionics become quite a paysome burden for the F-35. GaN modules for Himalayas, khibliny and tarantula were introduced in 2014. late 2014 the Su-57s were fitted with the himalayas, 2016 new khlibiny were tested in syria for su-35 and in 2018 tarantula was tested fitted for the Su-34. KRET already announced in their articles to have these modules on airborne aircrafts and EW systems. I do not recall the F-35 getting NJGs. KRET has also announced in 2019 photonic EW systems being made with news statements of ROFARs being integrated in the mid-2020s and of course not too long ago there has been announcements of new engines with new avionics. The F-35 did go from 1200 to 1600 modules but that was all done on the early phases and with the amount of aircrafts already produced I have my doubts they would start an avionics upgrade because they would have to re-test 100s of aircrafts with new systems on already operational aircrafts causing expenses to sky rocket.

Go find any article on the web but PICs have better receiver sensitivity than MMICs. Which would allow their aircrafts to quickly find and suppress aircrafts faster than aircrafts fitted with 1600 T/R modules. The Su-57 in early 2009 was given 2,236 modules and that is not counting the radar changes that were done to the Su-57 going from 240 to 360 degrees in a 2019 announcement, ROFAR is an even more monstrous upgrade than what they announced in 2019. With Stealth and far superior EW suppression the F-35 would basically be dog fighting this aircraft.
