Question is for what duration and fuel penalty? For tactical combat aircraft is high supercruise necessary? IMO in IAF's case we need supercruise with a useful road during exfil scenarios after bombing in contested airspace. Fly low high subsonic with your A2A and A2G load. Climb up, release A2G weapons (this is when radar is spotted and interceptors are vectored), and then make a supersonic dash to friendly airspace.
