Any information if the negotiations for FGFA contract went any further? There was some encouraging news a few weeks back about price reduction.

Yup, I have seen. Which competitors are you talking about?
JSF competition was held and there were two finalsists
Boeing X-32 and Lockheed Martin X-35. (which won and was designated as F-35 Lightning II) have a look at X-32 and then tell me that F-35 is fat .

JSF is fat bro. Any ameteur will tell by looking it. Forget X-32.

It has too large middel cross section which kills its supersonic capabilities badly.

Yes, F35 is fat. more pretty than X32, but fat.
Dynamic performances illustrate that a lot, despite a 19tons thrust engine !

117S (Al-41F-1S) is a simplified export version of 117 (Al-41F-1 or "117 without letter") for Su-35S.
117 without letter has 1 ton greater thrust, Rhenium + Ruthenium augmented hot parts and full digital control system.
Item 30 is a completely new engine meeting all the 5-th gen qualifiers including 2200K before turbine. Even more of this, it will have supersonic burning detonative resonated afterburning chamber.
Its dry thrust will be 11500kgs and full afterburned 18500kgs.

So its unfinished aircraft, without the real 5th gen engine, so IAF would be really looking at PAK FA after Izdeliye 30 fits in ?

I mean Izdeliye 30 would be tested only next year, if everything goes as planned.

117 without letter already allows T-50 to supercruise with normal payload and 50% fuel inside. It has specific thrust ratio as 10,1:1 which is higher than the one for F-119 (8,9:1), full lifetime of 4000hrs (1000hrs inter-repair).
The only qualifiers of G5 which is not met are gas temperature before turbine (1850K instead of more than 2000) and full modular design.
So its more than good to start with.
Indian PMI-1-3 will be with 117 without letter as well.

Item 30 will allow to easily supercruise even for possible twin-seater being fully fuelled and having 4500kg inside + AAMS outside.
But it will be some later.

But final Su-50 and FGFA will use izdeliye-30, won't they?
