If their military continues with their violence India should step in and establish a permanent military presence in sri lanka.

The thing with countries like sri lanka is that no matter what you do they will always pit you against someone else to come out on top. Its a small nation syndrome and in all honesty is understandable to a level.

It is up to the big countries to establish their influence properly. We don't see the US fucking around in SA because they have a proper permanent presence there. Similarly if things start to escalate India needs to establish a permanent military foothold and solve this issue once and for all.

Sri lanka is too close to India to be playing dual games. Send in the military open a few more consulates and establish a permanent presence and end this nonsense once and for all.

This ofcourse is only possible if the Sri lankan military cracks down heavily on either the lankans or tamilians.
The High Commission would like to categorically deny speculative reports in sections of media and social media about #India sending her troops to Sri Lanka. These reports and such views are also not in keeping with the position of
the Government of #India. (1/2)

I wonder whether all these events taking place in Sri Lanka and Pakistan is because of they are "too happy" than India?

It's true for now as we simply have no reason to move in but in the case of mass scale violence India should move in after securing the backing on a intern govt and their supporters.

We can intervene militarily only on an 'invite' by gotabaya, else it will be an invasion. ...and thats a :nono:

and gotabaya will 'invite' us only if certain 'assurances' are made, which we will not give.

classic deadlock.

As per rumors on the net gotabaya already invited us to to help restore order in SL. We decided to decline respectfully as there is no sense in backing a dead horse.

If violence does escalate it is better to form a pact with the opposition and put them in power with the help of our military. Thus achieving two goals in a single stroke.

Have a suspicion that some powerful forces are behind whats happening in SL.

A country just cannot turn into a shithole in few weeks.
its called a meltdown. when the core melted, radiation has spread.
there is only so much paper tapes that can be used to hide bankruptcy....

situation is SL is real. they have no money to buy stuff. this is not an arab spring kinda mess.

why TF is gotabaya making a veiled threat of racial tensions? who is he addressing?

Sri Lanka President Gotabaya Rajapaksa’s warns of racial tensions amid economic crisis

never knew there were different races in SL ...

Operation Cactus all over again?
If push comes to shove India better move in hard and fast.

See when we talk about sphere of influence we see countries like US and France build their spheres 1000's of km away from their borders. In India's case SL Nepal are not areas of interest that need to be under our sphere.

These are regions that are literally bordered with is and thus as a aspiring power they need to be secured by us. We need to control these regions in order to prevent any sort of backdoor in our backyard period.

a more aggressive nation than us would have made these as rump lap dog states. but not us .... we are too busy being non violent and unambitious and ambiguous.
